September 13, 2026 at 10:06 PM
Initial article for the newly added Diablo V, written from the BlizzCon 2026 reveal panel, the Blizzard announcement posts and post-show developer interviews, with every negative dated 13 September 2026.
Diablo V was announced on Saturday 12 September 2026 at BlizzCon 2026, held at the Anaheim Convention Center on 12 and 13 September as part of Blizzard Entertainment's celebration of 30 years. The game appeared first in the opening ceremony and then in a dedicated panel the same afternoon.
Pre-launch article. Diablo V was announced on 12 September 2026 and is scheduled for Spring 2029. As of 13 September 2026 the game has been public for one day, no playable build has been shown, and Blizzard describes it as "still early in development". This page describes the reveal itself. Everything currently known about the game traces back to it.

A note on the panel title. One schedule listing gave the session as "Diablo V: Forging the Future", while the announcement coverage, the recap and the published recording all title it "Diablo V: Forging the Next Era". This wiki treats "Forging the Next Era" as the correct title.
An announce teaser, released alongside the announcement and embedded on the game's official website.
A recording of the full panel, published through Blizzard's official Diablo channels.
Two announcement posts: a short one confirming the game and its Spring 2029 window, and a longer one covering the premise, classes, the caravan, itemization and the world.
An official Diablo V website, carrying the teaser, the Spring 2029 copy and an email sign-up form. It is a single page with no sub-pages, no press kit and no platform information.
No playable build was made available at the show, and no hands-off gameplay session was run for press. Nobody outside Blizzard has seen Diablo V running under their own control, which means every published account of the game is the development team describing it rather than anyone observing it. That is worth keeping in mind when reading any detailed claim about how Diablo V plays.
What was shown came from the panel presentation itself, including an early look at an inventory screen that the team described as not a final design. Beyond the panel, additional detail came from press interviews held after the show, which is where most of what is known about the Terror Realm, the procedural world and the development timeline came from.
