Thornbriar Fortress
September 16, 2026 at 05:01 AM
Created the Thornbriar Fortress location page and recorded that liberation was impossible until patch 2.02.00
Thornbriar Fortress is a fortified stronghold in southern Demeniss. Turncoats seize the fortress during Chapter 8: Blood Coronation, and Kliff has to retake it as a liberation objective before the chapter can continue.
Three consecutive main quests take place at or around the fortress.
Quest | Role at the Fortress |
|---|---|
Kliff meets the commanding officer at the soldier camp outside the walls and is briefed on the siege plan. No combat. | |
The siege itself. Kliff fights through waves of rebels to bring the enemy force percentage to zero, destroying artillery and siege towers along the way. | |
The boss fight against Fortain, the Cursed Knight that follows the fortress assault. |
Thornbriar Fortress is handled through the same liberation system used for other occupied territories, with an occupation bar that drains as enemy forces are defeated. Strongholds of this size give the largest single contribution gain available in Demeniss, so clearing it is worth doing before farming smaller sites.
Thornbriar Fortress could not be liberated at all until patch 2.02.00 on September 11, 2026, which fixed the issue. Any guide written before that date describing the liberation as impossible, or documenting a workaround for it, describes a state that no longer exists.
