The Showstopper is a glove combo finisher gear that triggers at the end of the unarmed left-click chain. Instead of resolving the final hit as a normal punch, the gear releases a large area-of-effect burst centered on the player. The burst lands with a noticeable knockback that pushes nearby enemies back several meters and briefly interrupts their actions, which makes it useful for clearing groups that have crowded into melee range.
The trigger is awkward to demonstrate in isolation because it requires the full combo to play out before firing, but in normal gameplay this is not a problem. Any player who is already running an unarmed-leaning build will reach the combo end naturally during fights, at which point the AoE finisher fires automatically.
The gear procs at the conclusion of the left-click combo string. The hitbox is centered on the player and reaches a wide radius around them, which is why the gear is more rewarding the more enemies are crowded into range. The knockback portion of the effect is the second half of the appeal: it pushes enemies back, gives the player a brief breathing window, and resets melee positioning if the fight has gotten too tight.
The Showstopper pairs especially well with Kliff Unarmed Build loadouts that already plan around finishing the left-click chain. Because the gear only contributes when the combo plays out fully, builds that interrupt or roll-cancel before the last hit will rarely see the AoE fire. Builds that lean into the full chain (such as those running the Combat God's Plate Gloves) get the most value out of the gear, since the combo finisher is already a natural part of the rotation.
A community tier list of Abyss Gear produced by a Crimson Desert content creator scores each gear out of 30 across damage, usability, and utility. Scores between 20 and 24 land in A tier.
Axis | Score | Note |
|---|---|---|
Damage | 7 / 10 | Solid AoE damage at the combo end, especially against grouped enemies. |
Usability | 7 / 10 | Awkward to demonstrate in a controlled setting, but natural to use in normal gameplay. |
Utility | 8 / 10 | Wide AoE plus knockback gives crowd control on top of damage. |
Total | 22 / 30 | A Tier |
The summary places The Showstopper in A tier as the strongest of the three glove combo finisher gears. The other two glove combo finishers (Karmic Pulse and Connect Burst) are placed in C tier in the same list, which makes The Showstopper the default pick for any unarmed build that wants a meaningful payoff at the end of the combo chain.
Best paired with Unarmed Combat builds that finish the left-click combo cleanly rather than roll-cancelling early.
Synergizes with Kliff Unarmed Build rotations that use the Combat God's Plate Gloves as the main glove anchor.
Knockback can reposition enemies during boss adds phases, useful for keeping pressure off Damiane or other party members while the combo plays out.
Less effective in single-target boss fights where there are no add waves to catch in the AoE.
