Stirrups of the Open Sky is a Boss Leather Armor body armor piece in Crimson Desert. Special boots designed with maximum friction on the soles. These are essential for rock climbing and serve as a lifeline when clinging to thrashing flying creatures. When worn with pairing gloves that enhance grip, they allow the wearer to maintain a perfect stance, unbothered by even the most violent shake.

The Stirrups of the Open Sky's most notable feature is its passive grip enhancement. While equipped, the stirrups prevent your character from falling when stamina runs out during climbing or grappling. This is especially useful when clinging to flying creatures or scaling tall cliff faces. The grip enhancement acts as a safety net, giving you extra time to recover stamina or find a ledge.
From a pure stats perspective, the Stirrups of the Open Sky are modest (11 attack, 3 defense, and level 1 Movement Speed). Their real value lies entirely in this passive benefit, making them a quality-of-life choice rather than a raw damage upgrade.
The Stirrups of the Open Sky are obtained through the Queen's Nest quest line, which becomes available after reaching 100 Hernandian Contribution. This requirement means you must complete a significant number of quests for the people of Hernand before the quest appears in your log.
Reach 100 Hernandian Contribution by completing faction quests and helping NPCs in the Hernand region.
The Queen's Nest quest will appear in your quest log.
Follow the quest to Arboria Castle.
Fight the boss: Queen of the Silk Spun, a giant spider boss.
Collect the Stirrups of the Open Sky as your reward.
The Queen of the Silk Spun is a spider boss at Arboria Castle. Her main threats are:
Exploding spiderlings: She spawns small spiders that rush toward you and explode on contact. Keep moving to avoid being caught by multiple detonations.
Venom spit: A ranged poison attack. When she rears up to spit, use Force Palm to stagger her, interrupting the attack and creating an opening for counterattacks.
Offensive combos: Standard melee swipes that can be dodged or parried.
The key strategy is to use Force Palm when she rears up. This interrupts her venom spit and staggers her, leaving her vulnerable to your own devastating attacks.
In addition to the Stirrups, this quest also rewards the Queen's Fangs Abyss Core. When equipped, Queen's Fangs adds a devastating poison spray to your right bumper + Y attack. This is ideal for softening up groups of enemies before engaging in melee combat, as the poison deals damage over time to all affected targets.
Focus on reaching 100 Hernandian Contribution early if you want these stirrups. Complete every available quest in the Hernand region.
The grip passive is most impactful during dragon riding and cliff climbing. If you frequently run out of stamina during traversal, these are worth equipping.
The Queen's Fangs Abyss Core pairs well with crowd-control builds that fight groups of enemies.
