Added buff effects, Scholastone cultivation research walkthrough, and infinite farming loop explanation

Skyroot is a cooking ingredient in Crimson Desert. A rare crop harvested from wood thick with vines, it takes root deep in rugged mountain terrain and can only be dug up with a shovel. Found extremely rarely throughout Pywel, except for Crimson Desert.
Property | Value |
|---|---|
Type | Herb and Spice |
Price | 500 Silver |
Herbs and spices can be gathered in the wild or purchased from merchants.
When consumed, Skyroot grants two effects: 4 seconds of zero Stamina cost and 2 minutes of reduced Stamina consumption. The zero-cost window is short but powerful, allowing players to execute Stamina-heavy attack chains or dodge sequences without depleting the bar. The follow-up 2-minute reduction keeps Stamina drain manageable for sustained combat or traversal. This combination makes Skyroot ideal for stamina-dumping DPS builds as well as general world movement and exploration.
Unlike most crops, Skyroot cannot simply be planted from the start. Cultivation requires completing a research chain at the Scholastone Research Institute (located on the south side, first available in Chapter 4). The process involves two research stages:
Skyroot Research: initiates the rare herb potential study, unlocking awareness of Skyroot as a cultivatable plant.
Skyroot Cultivation Research: analyzes the specific growth conditions needed to farm Skyroot at camp.
During the cultivation research, the process will be interrupted at one point. The researcher sends you to a marked location on the map where you must gather Skyroot from the ground using a shovel. Collect every last piece available at the site, then report back to the researcher to continue the study. When the research completes, you will already have Skyroot on hand that can be turned into seeds for planting.
Once the cultivation research is finished, Skyroot seeds can be planted at the Greymane Camp farm like any other crop. Unlike many rare herbs, Skyroot produces seeds when harvested, creating a self-sustaining loop. Plant the seeds, water with the Field Sprayer, apply the Fertilizer Sprayer for maximum yield, harvest the mature plants, extract new seeds, and replant immediately. This cycle provides an effectively infinite supply of Skyroot for the rest of the game, eliminating the need to search for rare wild spawns in mountain terrain.
Cooking ingredients are used at a cooking station to prepare meals with various buff effects.
