Description | A tribe of Pailune's rugged western mountain range. One of the most barren and isolated regions in Pailune, they worship the mountain spirit of the snowy peaks. The Skoghorn Tribe is a western mountain tribe of Pailune whose worship centers on mountain spirits. Their regional lore speaks of a white creature known as the mountain spirit, remembered today as White Horn. The myths surrounding White Horn gave rise to a cruel practice in which the tribe once sacrificed five-year-old children every year to keep the mountain's favor, a tradition whose aftermath still colors the area.
That legacy is directly tied to the boss encounter with White Horn, Shepherd of Souls, which appears in content tied to the tribe's territory. The Skoghorn Tribe rounds out the tribal population of Pailune alongside the Stjar Clan, Longleaf Tribe, Beighen Tribe, and Knytlingar Clan, each with its own approach to the spirits that shape the region.
Pailune - parent region.
Stjar Clan - neighbouring Pailune clan.
Longleaf Tribe - Wayward Woods tribe.
Beighen Tribe - southeastern Pailune tribe.
Knytlingar Clan - fellow northern clan.
Like every faction in Crimson Desert, this group sits inside the game's five-tier reputation system: War, Hostile, Neutral, Friendly, and Alliance. Most factions begin at Neutral when first encountered, and reputation shifts as the player completes faction quests, contracts, and related world content. Reaching Alliance unlocks three compounding benefits: allied troops that assist in combat inside the faction's territory, exclusive vendors carrying items not sold anywhere else, and restricted resource nodes such as mining deposits, ingredient patches, and hidden dungeons.
Crimson Desert tracks approximately 110 factions in total across the continent of Pywel, split across four classification types: Core, Hostile, Religious, and Other. Contribution XP from completing faction quests feeds into standing with the issuing faction and, in several regions, into a shared regional reputation such as Demenissian Contribution or Pailunese Contribution. Progress is tracked on the reputation panel in the player menu, and reaching Alliance with a faction typically unlocks a named reward set that can include armor, weapons, mounts, or cosmetics such as the Pirate King Hat earned through Vellua Fishermen's Guild content.
