New article: Priscus the Ancient boss guide with location, strategy, and rewards
Priscus the Ancient is one of three corrupted Ancient bosses that must be defeated as part of the Shackled God faction quest in Crimson Desert. Of the three Ancients, Priscus is widely considered the easiest encounter. The boss is located inside the Spire of Ringing Truth in the Pailune region.
Priscus is found at the Spire of Ringing Truth in the Pailune region. To reach the boss arena, open your quest journal and navigate to Faction Quests, then select the Deleysia faction's Shackled God quest line. Mark Priscus on your map using the journal, and the game will guide you to a tower.
This encounter involves a puzzle element. You must enter the tower, climb all the way to the top, and shoot a bell located inside the upper chamber. Hitting the bell causes the tower to collapse, dropping you into an underground arena where the boss fight takes place. This is the only one of the three Ancient fights that involves a puzzle before the battle.

Priscus is a flying boss that attacks with a mix of ranged and melee abilities. He fires laser projectiles that deal heavy damage, mixes in shadow attacks, and performs spear lunges that can catch players off guard. Like the other Ancients, Priscus spends much of the fight airborne, making melee combat inconsistent.
Laser Projectiles: Priscus fires concentrated beams that shred health on contact. These can be blocked using Nature's Snare.
Shadow Attacks: Dark energy strikes that cannot be blocked by Nature's Snare. Dodge these instead.
Spear Lunges: Fast forward thrusts that punish players who stand still. Roll to the side to avoid them.
Flight Patterns: Priscus frequently takes to the air, making him difficult to hit with melee weapons.
Priscus is best fought with ranged weapons, specifically a bow and arrows. The boss descends to the ground periodically, but his time on the ground is limited and he can be annoying to chase. Keeping your distance and using ranged attacks is the most consistent approach.
Use Nature's Snare: This skill blocks Priscus' laser projectiles. After absorbing a hit, follow up with Nature's Snare Retribution to bring him down to the ground for a burst of melee damage.
Dodge shadow and spear attacks: Nature's Snare does not block Priscus' shadow strikes or spear lunges. When you see these attacks winding up, dodge to the side rather than trying to block.
Bring plenty of arrows: Since the boss spends so much time in the air, ranged damage is your primary source of consistent hits. Stock up before entering the tower.
Build the stagger meter: Successive bow hits build Priscus' stagger gauge. Once it fills, he crashes down and becomes vulnerable to heavy melee combos.
Defeating Priscus progresses the Shackled God quest line. After all three Ancients are killed, the quest returns to the Serpent Shrine for the final encounter with Aeserion. Priscus also grants the Blessing of the Immortal upon completion of the associated quest.
