Patch 1.04.01
April 29, 2026 at 03:13 PM
Initial version (2026-04-29)
Patch 1.04.01 is an all-platforms hotfix released by Pearl Abyss on April 23, 2026 at 14:45 UTC. It addresses bugs introduced by Patch 1.04.00 rather than shipping new content. The headline change is that Focused Aerial Roll was unintentionally slowed down by 1.04 and is restored here, alongside several mount, control, and UI fixes.

Restored quick-slot entries for the Dragon mount, White Bear, and the other legendary Mounts that were unintentionally removed from the quick-slot menu by 1.04. The quick slot now defaults to the most recently unlocked mount, so the new Cloudcart or the most recently tamed creature appears first after the hotfix.
Restored Focused Aerial Roll flight speed to its pre-1.04 value. The slower speed shipped with 1.04 was flagged as a bug rather than a balance change and rolled back.
Focused Aerial Roll is now multidirectional. Pressing left, right, back, or forward during the focus input rolls Kliff in that direction rather than only continuing along the original facing.
Focus charge now fills approximately twice as fast. A full bar accumulates in the time that previously filled half a bar, so more rolls fit into a single airborne window.
Pet and horse name changes were reassigned from R3 / RS to L3 / LS to free up the right-stick click for camera-relative actions.
Console "Change Preset" now displays identically to the PC version. PlayStation and Xbox players see the same preset selector layout as the PC build.
Fixed housing furniture placement failures with keyboard and mouse. Placement now registers reliably without requiring controller input.
Pets no longer consume wood or ore the player gathered with a logging axe or pickaxe. Stacks land in the player's inventory cleanly during long gathering runs.
Stamina regen no longer triggers from rapid sheathing or unsheathing of weapons mid-sprint. The exploit chain that recovered stamina by spamming the weapon-toggle key during a sprint has been closed.
Eliminated crashes during dyeing and customization processes. Saves that crashed when previewing or applying a dye now complete the operation correctly.
Damiane: Blinding Flash no longer cancels in safe zones; the skill behaves the same as it does in active combat.
Kliff: Focused Aerial Roll flight speed corrected to the intended velocity (see the Mounts section above).
Oongka and Damiane: ranged weapons now target beyond bosses during a boss encounter, fixing an issue where ranged shots locked onto the boss and refused to switch to other enemies in the arena.
Fixed a title-screen return when observing previously-acquired skills with a full inventory while consuming Abyss Artifacts. Players who lost artifacts to this bug can recover them via the Reset All function on the affected skill tree.
Fixed a soft-lock during the Umbra fight when playing a customized character; the boss arena no longer crashes the client during specific moveset triggers.
Removed hit-effect displays when attacking non-targetable NPCs while wearing masks. Mask stealth attempts no longer betray the player by flashing red hit confirmations on civilians.
