Patch 1.01.01 shipped two days after the sizable 1.01.00 update to resolve issues introduced or surfaced by that patch. It delivered eight narrowly scoped fixes across bosses, mounts, UI, and character refinement systems. The update targeted regressions reported by players within the first 48 hours of Patch 1.01.00's release and reflected Pearl Abyss's continued commitment to rapid post-launch response for Crimson Desert.
Internally tracked as build 1.000.171, Patch 1.01.01 rolled out across every supported platform: Steam (PC and Mac), PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, the Epic Games Store, and the Mac App Store. The timing close to midnight UTC gave most players access to the fix before their next major play session.
Issue | Fix |
|---|---|
Mount Talisman UI | "Use" button for new mount Talismans incorrectly appeared in Damiane and Oongka's inventory. Talismans now only display for Kliff. |
Blackstar post-death | Boss remained airborne after defeat instead of disappearing properly. Now behaves correctly. |
A.T.A.G. boss | Boss failed to be destroyed when health reached zero (fight could not be completed). Fixed so the fight can now be concluded. |
Tempering UI | Target selection became unavailable under certain circumstances. Restored. |
Mounted NPC missions | Holding the follow button caused abnormal horse movement. Corrected. |
White Bear sprint | Sprint was unavailable while riding the White Bear. Now available. |
"Examine" function made controls unresponsive. Fixed. | |
Character refinement | Equipment refinement was impossible for Damiane and Oongka (character-specific refinement lockout). Removed. |
The Mount Talisman system was introduced in Patch 1.01.00 alongside five new permanent mounts, and the Use action should only have appeared in the inventory of Kliff, the primary playable character. The 1.01.00 build incorrectly displayed the action for Damiane and Oongka as well, which misled players into attempting to summon mounts from characters that lacked the necessary systems. Patch 1.01.01 removes the stray UI affordance and restricts Talisman use back to Kliff, matching the intended design.
Two boss-related regressions were fixed in this hotfix. The Blackstar boss, a flying encounter from the 1.01.00 content drop, would sometimes remain suspended mid-air after being defeated rather than falling and despawning. The boss body persisted until the scene transitioned, blocking cinematic triggers and occasionally preventing loot pickup. Patch 1.01.01 restored the expected descent and despawn behavior.
The A.T.A.G. Unit, a mech-style encounter, failed to be destroyed when its health reached zero in certain conditions. The encounter could not be completed; the mech's hitbox persisted, attacks continued to land, and the end-of-fight script never triggered. This hotfix corrected the destruction trigger so the fight completes correctly when the boss's health depletes.
Tempering, the game's weapon enhancement system, lost target selection availability under certain circumstances after 1.01.00, blocking players from upgrading specific weapons until they closed and reopened the menu. Tempering target selection now remains available at all times.
Mounted NPC missions experienced abnormal horse movement when players held the follow button too long. The fix smoothed NPC horse pathfinding so followed characters no longer sprint, stall, or veer unpredictably during escort segments.
The White Bear mount could not sprint following the 1.01.00 update because its sprint flag was reset during the patch migration. Sprint functionality has been restored.
The Constellation Helm's Examine function caused the control system to stop responding in certain menus. Players had to restart the game to recover input. Patch 1.01.01 removes the input lock so the Examine function behaves cleanly.
Equipment refinement was impossible for Damiane and Oongka due to a character-specific refinement lockout introduced by the 1.01.00 refactor. The lockout has been removed so all playable characters can refine their equipment as intended.

The parallel rollout across every Crimson Desert platform was a deliberate contrast to the staggered 1.00.03 launch. For this hotfix, Pearl Abyss prioritized shipping a consistent experience everywhere at once so that players on different platforms did not encounter divergent behavior during the same 48-hour window.
Patch 1.01.00, released on March 28, 2026, was the first major content update after launch and introduced new bosses (Blackstar, A.T.A.G. Unit), five new summonable mounts including the White Bear, the Constellation Helm equipment line, a refinement system overhaul, and a tempering target selection improvement. Any change at this scale risked regressions, and 1.01.01 was a targeted cleanup sweep addressing the specific bugs that emerged within the first two days of testing against the live player base.
Pearl Abyss addressed eight issues in 1.01.01 rather than bundling them into the next content patch because several of them, particularly the A.T.A.G. destruction trigger and the Damiane/Oongka refinement lockout, were functional blockers that prevented players from completing specific activities. Shipping the fixes within 48 hours of 1.01.00 limited the number of players impacted.
Further graphics-related issues reported alongside 1.01.01 were handled later the same day in Steam-only Patch 1.01.02, and a single boss AI issue that surfaced independently was patched a day later in 1.01.03. Together, the 1.01.x hotfix sequence closed out the short-term bug backlog from the 1.01.00 update before work moved onto the next content release.
