Overview

Lord of the Forgotten Castle is a faction quest for the Pailune Militia, part of the Crossroads of Succession quest line. The quest involves confronting the lord of a forgotten castle in the Pailune region, likely involving a significant combat encounter.

Boss Encounter

This quest culminates in a boss fight against Saigord the Staglord, a formidable enemy found at the Icemoor Castle Ruins. The Staglord wields a large shield and sword combination, with several dangerous attack patterns including a wide overhead slash combo, a three-hit shield bash sequence, and a charging attack that knocks Kliff down.

Combat Strategy

• Use Force Palm to stagger and cancel most of the Staglord's combos. This is the most effective tactic throughout the fight.

• The recommended combo is: Parry, then Stab, Heavy Attack, Force Palm, Heavy Attack.

• Watch for red glint attacks and dodge rather than parry or block, as these cannot be parried.

• During the fight, Kliff can learn the Turning Slash Expertise skill, a powerful downward strike follow-up that can be used for burst damage.

• Equip ice-resistant armor and cloaks to reach level 5 Ice Resistance, as the cold environment at Icemoor Castle Ruins can affect combat performance.
