The Long-Haired Cat is a beautiful feline breed with a luxurious, flowing coat. Resembling the Norwegian Forest Cat, this breed has thick, dense fur that protects it from the elements. The Long-Haired Cat has a regal bearing and calm temperament, preferring to observe its surroundings from a comfortable perch before engaging with people.

To tame the Long-Haired Cat, you first need to pick it up by holding the carry button. Once you are carrying the cat, you can pet it. Each petting action grants +5 Trust, and you can pet up to five times per in-game day for a maximum of +25 Trust from petting alone. Note that cats cannot pass through doors while you are carrying them.
You can also feed the Long-Haired Cat up to three times per in-game day. Drop fish, bird meat, or milk from your inventory near the cat to feed it. Cats refuse regular red meat. Long-Haired Cats prefer Dried Fish as their favorite food. Their calm demeanor makes them relatively approachable, though they still require the pick-up-and-pet method used for all cats.
Once the Long-Haired Cat reaches 100 Trust, hold the interaction button to register it as your companion. Cats generally take at least two to three in-game days to tame due to their lower trust gain per feeding compared to dogs.
The Long-Haired Cat's favorite food is Dried Fish, which grants the maximum +35 Trust per feeding. Other accepted foods grant +10 Trust per feeding.
Cats accept fish, bird meat, eggs, and dairy products, but refuse regular red meat. Top food items for cats include Golden Tench, Coelacanth, Golden Carp, and Clockwork Fish (+100 pts each for consumable food value). Daily feeding is limited to three times per in-game day, with the day resetting at midnight in-game time.
Like all pets in Crimson Desert, the Long-Haired Cat automatically runs around the battlefield after combat and loots items from enemy corpses. Pets do not fight, attack enemies, or take damage. They function exclusively as automatic loot collectors.
Pets disappear when you mount your horse and reappear when you dismount. Only one pet can be active at a time, with remaining registered pets stored in your inventory's Pets tab.
The Long-Haired Cat can wear Pet Equipment, including one headpiece and one body outfit at a time. Pet armor is purely cosmetic and does not provide combat stats. Pet cosmetics can be purchased from Milou's Shop in Pororin Village or the Demeniss Pet Tailor in the southeast corner of Demeniss.
The Long-Haired Cat has 2 different appearance variants with different coat colors and patterns. All variants share the same favorite food, taming requirements, and abilities. The variant you encounter depends on the specific spawn location and sometimes the time of day.
Remember to pick up the cat first before attempting to pet it. Simply approaching and pressing the pet button will not work.
Cats cannot pass through doors while being carried. Plan your petting location accordingly.
Cats take at least two in-game days to tame. Be patient and visit consistently.
You can register up to 30 pets total. Completing the full roster unlocks the Natural Collector trophy.
