Lifted Fog is a faction quest in Crimson Desert, part of the Crimson Desert Situation quest series. This quest takes place in the Hernand region.

Starting the Quest

Lifted Fog is a Tashkalp side-quest chain that becomes available after you liberate the city as part of the main story. Once the liberation is done, a guard stationed just outside the city walls gives you the initial prompt. Speak to him, agree to help, and the quest updates to send you back into the city proper.

Eavesdropping Step

Inside Tashkalp, the quest marker leads to a group of criminals. Rather than engaging them directly, walk around behind them and lean on the nearby wall with L3. A lean prompt appears in the bottom-right corner when you are close enough. While leaning, you listen in on their conversation about needing wagons moved, which triggers the next quest stage.

Stealing the Wagons

The quest then points you slightly southwest to an NPC on a corner. He tells you to steal a wagon for him. Bring the first wagon back to the nearby wagon vendor where he is standing, and he will ask for two more in succession, for a total of three wagons stolen in a row. The wagons themselves are not heavily guarded; it is mostly a legwork quest that shuttles you back and forth across the city.

Rewards and Unlocks

Completing the chain unlocks the Back Alley Shop vendor inside Tashkalp's back alley. His stock is the main reason to bother with the quest:

• Black Dye: one of the most popular colours in the game for armour and bows.

• Ranged Weapons of the World - Bows, Vol. IV: teaches the Tommasoan, Shadowleaf, Tardic, and Bow of Fleeting recipes at any smithy.

• A daily stock of 3 Explosive Arrows on a rolling restock.

• Other two-handed and shield recipe books in the same Ranged/Shields/Two-Handed series.

Because the rewards include both a crafting book and a restocking explosive-arrow source, Lifted Fog is one of the higher-value optional quest chains for any ranged or bow-focused character. Players who already have infinite arrows slotted still come back regularly for the dye and to round out their tier 4 crafting options.
