The Hernandian Soldier's Horse is a military horse in Crimson Desert, ridden by soldiers serving the Duchy of Hernand. The Duchy of Hernand is governed by House Celeste, whose forces defend the region and maintain order across its territories. Soldiers patrolling the roads around the City of Hernand and its surrounding villages ride these well-bred horses, which are trained for both patrol duties and combat readiness.
Statistically, this horse is identical to the Calphadean Scout's Horse and Priden, sharing the same 400 base HP, 195 base Stamina, and 60 base Defense. It offers a well-rounded stat profile suitable for both exploration and combat, with particularly strong Jump Power growth at max level. As a faction mount, it is not available through wild taming or standard stable purchases. Instead, players must steal or claim it from Hernandian soldiers during encounters.

The Hernandian Soldier's Horse has the following base and max-level stats:
The Hernandian Soldier's Horse has solid base Defense (60), which is among the highest for non-legendary breeds. At max level, it gains 520 HP and 270 Stamina, which is enough to handle extended travel and moderate combat encounters. Its Jump Power peaks at 4 at Level 5, making it one of the better jumpers in the standard tier.
This horse unlocks the following skills through leveling:
Icon | Skill | Unlock Level |
|---|---|---|
| Dash | Lv. 2 |
| Drift | Lv. 3 |
| Back Kick | Lv. 3 |
| Sprint | Lv. 4 |
| Swimming III | Lv. 5 |
| Quick Start | Lv. 5 |
| Double Jump | Lv. 5 |
High Jump | Lv. 5 |
The skill set mirrors the Calphadean Scout's Horse and Priden. Back Kick learned at Level 3 is useful for dealing damage to enemies pursuing from behind during mounted combat. Swimming III at Level 5 allows the horse to traverse deep water, opening up shortcuts across rivers and lakes.
Level | HP | Stamina | Attack | Defense | Speed | Accel | Handling | Jump |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
Lv. 1 | 400 | 195 | 10 | 60 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 2 |
Lv. 2 | 420 | 210 | 12 | 63 | 1 | 1 | 2 | 2 |
Lv. 3 | 440 | 225 | 16 | 66 | 2 | 2 | 2 | 2 |
Lv. 4 | 470 | 240 | 19 | 69 | 2 | 3 | 2 | 2 |
Lv. 5 | 520 | 270 | 23 | 72 | 3 | 3 | 3 | 4 |
Attack growth is notable, more than doubling from 10 to 23 between Levels 1 and 5. Defense gains are more gradual, adding 12 points across all five levels. The biggest jump in mobility stats comes at Level 5, where Speed, Acceleration, Handling, and Jump Power all receive their final increases.
Because the Hernandian Soldier's Horse is a faction-specific mount, it does not spawn as a wild horse and is not sold at standard stables. The primary ways to get one are:
Steal from Hernandian Soldiers: Equip a mask to conceal your identity, then approach a mounted Hernandian soldier while they are dismounted or distracted. Steal their horse and ride away. Stealing increases your bounty, so plan accordingly.
Defeat Mounted Soldiers: During faction conflicts or random encounters with Hernandian patrols, defeat the mounted soldiers first. Once the rider is knocked off, the horse becomes available for you to mount and claim.
Faction Quest Encounters: Some faction quests pit you against Hernandian forces. Completing these encounters often leaves riderless horses on the battlefield that you can take.
After acquiring the horse, register it at any stable to make it a permanent mount. You can then equip it with horse items and level it through riding, feeding, and caressing.
The Duchy of Hernand is one of the major political entities in Pywel, descended from the wandering knight Canta. House Celeste bears the responsibility of defending the duchy and its people, maintaining a standing military force that patrols the roads and protects settlements from bandits and hostile factions. The horses ridden by Hernandian soldiers are bred and trained specifically for military service, resulting in mounts that are disciplined, hardy, and comfortable wearing barding and heavy saddles.
The Hernand region is the starting area of the game, so you can encounter these horses early on. Stealing one gives you access to a solid mid-tier horse from the beginning.
Be mindful of your bounty when stealing. If you accumulate too much criminal notoriety, bounty hunters will pursue you.
Level the horse to 5 as quickly as possible to unlock High Jump and Double Jump, which drastically improve its traversal capabilities.
This horse pairs well with defensive horse equipment since its base Defense is already solid. Stack additional Defense through saddles and stirrups for a durable mount.
For a stronger alternative with similar stat distribution, consider pursuing Rokade, the legendary war horse with 600 base HP and superior handling.
