Overview

Hernandian Barding is a Horse Item of the horse tack variety in Crimson Desert. It provides +20 Defense for your horse mount, making it the premier defensive horse armor. The barding is a ceremonial piece crafted by the master artisans of Hernand, boasting both elegance and practical functionality.

As a Contribution Good, the Hernandian Barding requires players to have earned sufficient Contribution in Hernand before it can be obtained. This makes it a mid-to-late-game horse upgrade that rewards players for engaging with Hernand's community.

How to Obtain

The Hernandian Barding is obtained through the Contribution system in Hernand. Only players who have contributed to Hernand are permitted to possess it. Check the Contribution Shop at Hernand Castle or the Equinsher Saddlery for availability.

Earning Contribution in Hernand

The Hernandian Barding costs 23 Contribution Points at the Hernand Contribution Shop, run by the vendor Haldwin inside Hernand Castle. Contribution Points for Hernand are earned by completing bounties posted on notice boards (available from Chapter 2 onward), faction requests, and liberating bandit strongholds. Each Contribution level requires 100 experience points and yields 1 spendable point.

Dyeing

Hernandian Barding can be recolored at the Dye Station in Greymane Settlement. The ceremonial design retains its elegant form through dye changes, with each layer accepting color and finish adjustments independently. Available material finishes include polished metal, worn leather, matte fabric, and shiny lacquer.

Notes

• At +20 Defense, the Hernandian Barding provides the largest single defensive bonus of any known horse tack piece.

• Pairs well with the Hernandian Champron (+7 Attack) and Hernandian Stirrups (+30 Health per second) for a full Hernandian horse tack set.
