Initial version with full inventory, location, and contribution system details
Haldwin is a vendor stationed at Hernand Castle who manages the regional Contribution Shop for the Hernand territory. Operating under the authority of Duke Celeste, he exchanges Contribution Points for exclusive gear and rewards that cannot be purchased with standard copper or silver currency. Haldwin is a meticulous record-keeper who, by his own account, has never once missed an entry or made a single mistake in his ledger.
Unlike most vendors in the game, Haldwin does not accept coin. His entire inventory operates on the Contribution Point system, making him one of the few merchants in Pywel where standard currency is worthless. Players looking to purchase from him need to invest time in regional quests and good deeds to build up their point total.
Haldwin can be found inside Hernand Castle, within the Contribution Shop section of the castle complex. The castle sits in the northern part of the Hernand region, overlooking the town below. Look for the shop counter near the castle's administrative wing. Because the castle functions as the seat of House Celeste, there is no risk of bandit activity in the immediate area.
All items are priced in Contribution Points rather than copper or silver. The Bolton Plate Set provides solid early-game protection, while the Hernand Ceremonial Guard set offers better stats and a distinct visual style. The most expensive items, the Hernandian Signet and Hernandian Crown, function as prestige accessories.

Haldwin operates the Hernand Contribution Shop exclusively. He does not buy items for copper or silver, and he does not provide repair or upgrade services. However, items sold back to Haldwin return their Contribution Point value, so there is no permanent loss if you change your mind about a purchase. This makes Haldwin's shop a safe place to experiment with gear choices.
Each region in Pywel maintains its own Contribution Shop with a unique inventory. The Hernand shop under Haldwin's management is typically the first one players encounter. Other regions have their own shop managers with different gear sets tied to local factions and aesthetics.
Contribution Points are earned through regional activities in Hernand. The primary sources include:
Completing faction quests for House Celeste and other Hernand-aligned groups
Finishing NPC requests and side activities throughout the region
Performing good deeds and assisting villagers with daily problems
Participating in regional events and bounties
Points accumulate per region, so Contribution Points earned in Hernand apply only to Haldwin's shop and other Hernand-region services. Points earned in Demeniss or other territories go toward those regions' respective shops.
The Bolton Plate Set (Helm, Armor, Cloak) costs only 16 points total and provides a solid defensive upgrade for early-game players. Prioritize these pieces before investing in the more expensive Ceremonial Guard gear.
The Hernandian Barding (23 points) improves your mount's stats and appearance. If you rely heavily on horseback combat, this is one of the better early investments.
The Hernandian Crown (70 points) and Signet (65 points) are prestige items. They look impressive but the stat value per point is lower than the armor sets. Save them for after you have your core gear sorted.
Selling items back to Haldwin refunds their Contribution Point cost. If you buy a piece and later find something better through crafting or loot drops, sell it back and redirect those points.
