Overview

The City Guard's Shield is a shield in Crimson Desert. crafted from iron and copper.

It provides a base Defense of 2 alongside Attack Speed Lv. 1 and Movement Speed Lv. 1, giving it a balanced but modest stat profile. As one of the shields unlocked through the Shields of the World, Vol. 1 crafting manual, it becomes available early in the game once the player purchases the manual from the Equipment Shop in Calphade, Hernand. The shield's name suggests it was designed for the city guards of the Hernand region, built for practical use rather than battlefield dominance.

How to Obtain

The City Guard's Shield is crafted at any Blacksmith after reading the Shields of the World, Vol. 1 crafting manual. This manual can be purchased at the Equipment Shop in Calphade, Hernand for 50 Copper. The crafting recipe requires Iron Ore x5 and Copper Ore x2. Iron Ore is gathered from mining nodes found throughout the Hernandian Territory, while Copper Ore appears at certain mining spots in the Hernand area and surrounding regions. Both materials can also be purchased from material vendors.

With DEF 2 and small bonuses to both Attack Speed and Movement Speed, the City Guard's Shield is a lightweight option for players who want a bit of everything without committing to a pure defensive or mobility build. The dual Lv. 1 speed bonuses mean slightly faster attacks from the paired weapon and marginally quicker repositioning during combat. At its low base defense, the shield will not absorb heavy hits well, so players should rely more on parrying and dodging than sustained blocking. The two Abyss Core slots allow customization to shore up its weaknesses or enhance its strengths.
