Overview

The Black Bear is a temporary ground mount in Crimson Desert. It is one of the strongest bear variants available, featuring 1,500 HP and 180 Attack. Like all wild bear mounts, the Black Bear cannot be registered at a stable or summoned on demand. Players must subdue it in combat before mounting, and dismounting causes the bear to immediately turn hostile again.

Black Bears are larger and more aggressive than standard brown bears, making the taming process more dangerous but yielding a significantly more powerful mount.

Base Stats

At Level 1, the Black Bear has the following base stats:

The Black Bear is tied with the Grizzly Bear for the highest stats among temporary bear mounts. Both have 1,500 HP, 180 Attack, 180 Stamina, and 35 Evade. The only bear to exceed these values is the legendary White Bear, which is a permanent summonable mount.

How to Obtain

Black Bears are found in forested and mountainous regions throughout Pywel. They also appear as mounts ridden by soldiers of the Black Bears faction. To mount a wild Black Bear, fight it until it submits and a Ride prompt appears. To steal one from a Black Bears faction soldier, defeat the rider first.

The 1,500 HP means the subduing fight is lengthy. Come with strong weapons, healing items, and patience. Fire-based attacks are particularly effective at staggering bears, creating openings for additional damage.

Combat Riding

The Black Bear excels as a combat platform. With 180 Attack, its claw swipes, bite attacks, and body slams deal heavy damage to enemies. The rider can layer their own weapon attacks on top of the bear's innate combat abilities, effectively doubling offensive output.

The 180 Stamina provides slightly better sustained running compared to the standard Bear (165 Stamina), allowing for longer pursuits or escapes.
