Baby Wyvern

Added Wyvern's Cradle cave location, 5-minute hatch timer, and behavior details (2026-05-25)
The Baby Wyvern is a companion pet in Crimson Desert introduced in Patch 1.08.00, which rolled out on May 19, 2026. Unlike the early-game pets that follow the trust-based taming flow used for stray dogs and cats, the Baby Wyvern is acquired through an egg collection and hatching mechanic. It is the first pet in Crimson Desert to use this acquisition path.

The Baby Wyvern is a companion pet rather than a rideable mount. It is distinct from the adult Wyvern entries in the rideable Exotic Creatures category. Pearl Abyss has stated Baby Wyverns will be able to grow and be registered as mounts in a future update.
The Wyvern Egg is located inside a cave in southwestern Delesyia. The cave, called the Wyvern's Cradle, is found on the Three Brothers' Cliff in the south-west of the region.
Use Focused Force Palm on the Abyss Gear inside the stone. When the screen flashes yellow, release the button to break open the entrance. Inside the cave, the egg is a large white object positioned to the right of a treasure chest.
Pick up the Wyvern Egg and carry it to the nearby Wyvern Nest, which appears on the minimap a few meters south-west of the cave entrance. The hatching process follows four steps.
Carry the egg to the marked Wyvern Nest location.
Drop the egg in the middle of the nest.
Wait roughly five minutes of real-world time for the Hatch button to become available.
Approach the egg and press Hatch to acquire the Baby Wyvern.
There is no taming or trust-meter step. The hatchling registers as a pet automatically once Hatch is pressed.
The Baby Wyvern flies around the player character rather than walking on the ground, and stays airborne rather than landing on the player's hand or shoulder like bird pets do. During and after combat, it automatically loots dropped items from defeated enemies, matching the loot-collection behavior shared by other registered pets in the post-patch-1.08.00 roster.
It accepts cosmetic gear from the dedicated pet equipment store at the Pororin pet hub. Only one pet can be actively summoned at a time, so the Baby Wyvern competes with other registered pets for the active slot.
Patch 1.08.00 also added the Pond camp feature (placeable at Howling Hill and Pailune Camp), the new tool equip slot, musket and shotgun access for Kliff, temporary mounting of subdued wild Wyverns, and 20 additional small-animal pet species. The Baby Wyvern is positioned as the flagship pet for the 1.08.00 patch and uses an entirely new acquisition flow that future pets may also adopt.
