Observation Point

Ancient Abyss Research is a short Scholastone Institute observation quest. The target point is the Ancient Abyss feature to the west of the research building. Like its sibling quests, the objective is to interact with the feature, wait for the Learn Knowledge bar to fill, and report back.

Prerequisites

Ancient Abyss Research becomes visible after completing The Secret to Concentration. It is one of several observation tasks that open at the same time, alongside Flow of the Abyss, Abyss Rocket Device, and Skyroot Cultivation Site.

Step by Step Walkthrough

1. Accept the quest from Grunvar at Scholastone.

2. Head west from the Scholastone Research building until the Ancient Abyss marker on your compass lines up.

3. Use the "Look at" interaction and wait for the Learn Knowledge progress bar to complete.

4. Talk to the goblin research assistant standing beside the benches to your right of the observation point.

5. Accept the next observation task the assistant issues, which continues the Scholastone research branch.

Tips

• Pair this with the other Scholastone observation quests; all four are within a short walk of each other.

• Early observation tasks are easy Hernandian reputation ticks for low combat risk. Do not leave them sitting in your log.
