Abyss Rocket Device is a short Scholastone Institute observation mission from Grunvar. The target is a gravity-powered abyss rocket device placed just outside the Research Institute's main exit.
Requires The Secret to Concentration completed and Beekeeper Gear Blueprint researched. All Scholastone observation quests share this gate.
Accept the quest from Grunvar inside Scholastone Institute.
Walk to the exit of the Research Institute. The Abyss Rocket Device stands just outside.
Interact with the "Look" prompt at the marked position and wait for the Learn Knowledge bar to fill.
Speak with the researcher standing next to the device to finalise the observation.
Return to Grunvar and unlock the next research slot.
Completing the quest unlocks the Cloudcart Efficiency Enhancement research (the Balloon/Cloudcruiser upgrade). To actually build the vehicle, send an engineer such as Arnold along with five comrades to Emberwind Workshop via the dispatch menu. The research itself is the gating prerequisite; the workshop dispatch is the assembly.
The Cloudcart is one of the game's best cross-map travel options for late chapters. Prioritise this quest even if you skip other observation tasks.
Bundle this with Flow of the Abyss and Ancient Abyss Research. All three devices are within a 60-second walk.
