The Guardians

Initial faction article from lore materials and cross-references
The Guardians are one of three subfactions within the World Movers. Unlike the Deathless who embrace the Void and the Outcasts who withdraw from the wider conflict, the Guardians have chosen to fight alongside Setera's native defenders.
The Guardians watched their homeworlds fall to the Void. That experience drives their conviction that running is not enough; the Void must be confronted directly. They carry Void contamination like all World Movers, but they refuse to let it define them. Their position is that surviving the destruction of a planet means they have a responsibility to help prevent it from happening again.
The Guardians are the World Movers subfaction most likely to cooperate with the Frontier and the player. Their combat experience from fighting the Void on their original worlds makes them effective allies. They bring knowledge of Void tactics, Void-corrupted enemy behavior, and survival strategies that Setera's native military has not had time to develop on its own.
The Guardians' decision to side with Setera's natives puts them at odds with the other World Movers subfactions. The Deathless view them as traitors to the Void's power. The Outcasts see them as naive for involving themselves in another world's problems when they should be protecting their own people. Even within the Guardians, disagreements likely exist about how closely to integrate with Seteran society versus maintaining their identity as outsiders.
Players may encounter Guardians as quest-givers, allies in combat encounters, and providers of unique knowledge about the Void. Their perspective as survivors of planetary destruction adds a dimension to the game's narrative that native Seterans cannot provide. They have already lived through what Setera faces. How much the player trusts and works with the Guardians may factor into quest choices and faction relationships.
