The Outcasts are one of three subfactions within the World Movers. They have chosen isolation over cooperation, claiming territory on Setera and defending it with lethal force against anyone who trespasses, whether native Seteran, fellow World Mover, or Void entity.
Philosophy
The Outcasts have concluded that the universe's systems have failed them. Chronos's unequal distribution of Arche condemned their worlds. The Sentinels failed to protect them. Setera's people show them suspicion rather than solidarity. The Outcasts have decided that the only beings they can trust are each other, and the only safety they can guarantee comes from controlling their own territory and killing anyone who enters it.
Territory
The Outcasts have seized Mistwood Forest, a dense forest shrouded in perpetual mist. The forest was historically a logging hub, valued for its high-quality timber and abundant wildlife. When the Outcasts moved in, they ended all outside access. The mist and the forest's natural density make it difficult to navigate without local knowledge, giving the Outcasts a defensive advantage against both military incursions and casual intruders.
The Outcasts guard their territory fiercely. They do not negotiate with trespassers or issue warnings. Anyone found within their borders is treated as a threat and eliminated. This makes Outcast-controlled zones dangerous exploration areas for players, regardless of whether the player has hostile intentions.
Relationship with other World Movers
The Outcasts reject both the Deathless' embrace of the Void and the Guardians' cooperation with Setera's military. They view the Deathless as insane and the Guardians as naive. Their position is pragmatic: control what you can, defend what you have, and trust no one outside your group.
Gameplay encounters
Outcast encounters differ from typical enemy faction combat. They are not mindless Void creatures or fanatical cultists. They are organized, territorial, and fight with the desperation of people who have already lost everything once. Entering Mistwood Forest triggers confrontations with Outcast patrols and defenders. The forest's thick canopy and perpetual mist reduce visibility, making their ambush tactics particularly effective.
