Initial article on Eden PvPvE mode
Eden is Chrono Odyssey's dedicated PvPvE extraction mode, described as the game's "ultimate dungeon challenge." Functioning similarly to Escape from Tarkov or Dark and Darker, Eden pits players against both AI enemies and other human players simultaneously. The objective is to locate valuable loot, fight through threats, and reach exit portals to keep everything collected. Players who die or fail to exit lose everything they gathered.
Dual Threat — Players must contend with both AI-controlled Void enemies and hostile human players.
Extraction — Exit portals scattered throughout the zone must be reached to keep gathered loot.
Full Loot Risk — Death or failure to extract means losing all items collected during the session.
Chronotector Disabled — Chronotector abilities are partially or completely disabled in Eden to maintain competitive balance. No Time Reversal saves — death is permanent within a session.
Eden represents the highest-stakes content in Chrono Odyssey. By removing the Chronotector safety net and adding the threat of human opponents, it creates tension absent from the game's standard PvE content. The extraction loop encourages risk-reward decision-making: push deeper for better loot at greater danger, or extract early with guaranteed but lesser rewards.
Eden was not included in the June 2025 CBT1 and is planned for a later test phase. Its implementation represents one of the most anticipated endgame features for the PvP-oriented player base.
