Thalastrider

Create the Thalastrider page: the player designation, the traveler with a hidden secret, the party, and the superseded 2023 terms recorded as history.
Thalastrider is the designation used for the player character in Bringer. It is not the name of a creature or a faction. Three separate official channels address the player directly by it, which makes the reading unambiguous.
The reveal trailer narration says "It is time to move forward, Thalastrider."
The official community server description opens with a direct greeting, "Hi, Thalastrider!", before introducing the game.
The official English page biography begins "As a Thalastrider bound by a unique mission, you", where the text is cut off by the platform at that length.
The Chinese form is 海履者, written identically in simplified and traditional script, the Japanese is タラッサライダー and the Korean is 탈라스트라이더. Unlike Thalassa and Arkiloth, this term is not glossed inline in running prose. Its cross language alignment rests on consistent positioning across the keyword metadata of all four language pages, corroborated by the meaning of the characters themselves, 海履者 naming one who treads the sea. It is treated here as reliable but is a step below the two inline glossed terms.
The studio's announcement overview gives the only description of who the player is: "Playing as a traveler harboring a hidden secret, players will navigate competing factions and ancient mysteries, gradually uncovering the truths buried deep within the world." The official page biography adds that the Thalastrider is "bound by a unique mission".
That is the entire confirmed characterisation. As of 13 September 2026 the protagonist has no announced name, no announced gender, no announced background, and the nature of the hidden secret has not been hinted at beyond the word itself. Nothing states whether the protagonist is a fixed character or one the player configures, and no character creator has been mentioned either way.
The Thalastrider does not travel alone. Official combat copy states that "players can seamlessly switch between party members in real time", which confirms both that a party exists and that its members are individually controllable rather than AI companions the player only commands. No party member has been named, no party size has been stated, and nothing describes how members are recruited. See Combat for the mechanical side of party switching.
The game's principal key art shows five distinct figures presented as a cast lineup: a young man in the foreground with layered cloth and leather armour and an orange shoulder mantle; a long haired woman with dark feathered plumage at one shoulder; a blonde girl with goggles pushed up on her head and a fur lined hood; a woman with red and pink hair in dark studded leather with a spiked shoulder guard; and a dark haired young man in sleek black segmented armour. None of the five is identified anywhere in the public record, in any language, and nothing states which of them, if any, is the Thalastrider. This wiki does not assign them names or roles.
The words used for the protagonist and the player changed between the game's 2023 debut and its 2025 re presentation in Mainland China. This was a genuine revision made alongside a substantial rebuild of the project, not a translation inconsistency, and the older Chinese material using the old words is still in circulation.
Term | Script and region | Era | Status |
|---|---|---|---|
傀人 | Simplified Chinese, Mainland China | 2023 presentation | Superseded. Was the protagonist designation. |
凡星 | Simplified Chinese, Mainland China | 2023 presentation | Superseded. Was how the player was addressed. |
海履者 | Simplified and traditional Chinese | 2025 onward | Current. Corresponds to the English Thalastrider. |
Neither 傀人 nor 凡星 should be treated as a current term, and neither should be translated as "Thalastrider". They are recorded here as production history. Material from 2023 may also describe systems that no longer exist, since the project was remade in between. See Development and Titles, Languages and Regional Editions.
