11Big Dipper is a blade that comes with the Digital Deluxe Edition rather than being found in the world. Official store text lists it as one of five bonus items in the package, alongside black and brown Shiba skins for Koo, the Oni's Hat for Emma, 100,000 amber, and a set of vegetable seedlings. It is also sold as part of the separate Deluxe upgrade for owners of the standard edition. It is not a pre-order item, and the two are easy to confuse: pre-ordering either edition grants a brown Shiba skin and 30,000 amber, which is a different and much smaller package that does not include the blade.2233Overview4455DetailValueTypeBladeDamage typeSlashSourceDigital Deluxe Edition, or the Deluxe upgradeWhen it arrivesAdded to the inventory on clearing the tutorial, at the start of Chapter 1Signature effectLuckyNot included withThe pre-order bonus, which is a brown Shiba skin and 30,000 Amber on either editionHow it is deliveredDigital copies install the bonus content with the game; disc editions redeem a code through the console storeBase attackPublished figures for the blade roster do not agree, so no single number is recorded here66Its attack figure is worth a caveat. The two independent stat tables covering the sword roster quote base attack on different scales throughout, one listing the standard non-elemental blades in the twenties and the other listing the same blades at roughly double that, and the passive effect values diverge in the same way. Whatever the absolute number, both tables agree on the shape: Big Dipper sits in the ordinary band alongside the starting Purifier and the Mechblades rather than above it. It is a normal blade with an unusual passive, not a strong one.7788The Lucky Effect991010Big Dipper is not built around raw damage. Its effect increases the amber gained from defeated enemies for a short window, and the multiplier climbs as the blade is enhanced. That makes it an earning tool rather than a boss weapon: swap it in for a clearing run through a zone, then swap back for a fight that needs a damage type or an element. The 60-second window is what sets it apart. Most blade passives in the game run for five to fifteen seconds and are timed around a single engagement, so Lucky is the only one that can plausibly cover a whole cluster of enemies and the walk between them. Emma's Extended Blade Effects skill raises weapon effect duration by up to 80 percent at its fourth and final level, and Lucky falls in the category it governs, so a build that has taken it stretches the window considerably further.11111212Enhancement TierAmber MultiplierDurationLucky1.2x60 secondsLucky +1.3x60 secondsLucky ++1.4x60 secondsLucky +++1.5x60 seconds1313Availability14141515Because Big Dipper is bonus content, it does not appear in the world for standard edition owners and there is no in-game route to it. Standard owners who change their minds buy the Digital Deluxe add-on from the same storefront they bought the game on, which grants the whole bonus package rather than the sword on its own. Its damage type is Slash, which is one of the three physical types blades can carry alongside Impact and Rupture, so it does not cover an elemental weakness the way the Thunderwave Sword or Hunter's Sword do.16161717The blade behaves differently from the rest of the Deluxe contents in one small way. Big Dipper, the bonus amber and the seedlings all land in the inventory the moment the tutorial is cleared, so they are available for the whole of Chapter 1. The Oni's Hat and Koo's two Shiba skins are cosmetics and cannot be equipped until the walking vessel is available, which happens partway through Chapter 1 once Rangifer has been driven off; they are then applied from the Special Content option in the bed menu rather than from the equipment screen.18181919Enhancement follows the same rules as any other blade. Levels are bought at a campsite or at the workbench aboard the vessel, the ceiling is set by how far the vessel itself has been upgraded, and the investment cannot be refunded. It does survive into New Game Plus with its enhancements intact, which is the one argument for putting materials into a farming blade rather than a fighting one.20202121Related Pages22222323Weapons and Katanas cover the full blade roster, Editions and Pre-Order Bonuses lists everything the Deluxe package includes, and Amber explains the currency the Lucky effect multiplies.
