The Chinese Release

Aniimo ships in two forms. The global release covers Windows PC, PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S and Xbox cloud gaming, with mobile following later. Mainland China receives a separately operated edition published under the native title 《伊莫》, run by a licensed Chinese operator on its own site, its own client binaries and its own platform set. The two are not the same product build, and a fact that is true of one is not automatically true of the other. Everything on this page describes the Chinese edition specifically. Where a detail applies only in China, it is labelled that way.
Dates on this page are given in UTC+8, the zone the Chinese corpus uses for everything. The measurements behind the page were taken on 2026-09-17 in UTC+8, which is 2026-09-16 in UTC.
The clearest evidence that the Chinese edition is a separate release, rather than a translated skin on the global one, is that almost every identifier differs. The Chinese operator runs its own first-party site, distinct from the global official site, with its own news namespace carrying 46 Simplified Chinese posts as of 2026-09-17. Post numbers are reused across the two namespaces and mean different things in each, so a bare post number from one site never resolves against the other.
Item | Global release | Chinese release |
|---|---|---|
Title shown | 《伊莫》 | |
Operating site | The global official site | A distinct first-party Chinese operator site |
News namespace | Global post ids across eleven locales | A separate Simplified Chinese namespace, 46 posts as of 2026-09-17 |
PC client | A global launcher executable | A separate Chinese launcher executable |
Mobile package identifiers | Global identifiers on both mobile platforms | Different Chinese identifiers on both mobile platforms |
Internal application name | worldx.global.prod | worldx.cn.prod |
Support mailbox | Separate global and Traditional Chinese support addresses | A dedicated Chinese support address, plus a Chinese support portal and a corporate messaging contact |
Developer credit | Pawprint Studio | 爪印工作室, the same studio under its Chinese name |
The development credit is shared. What differs is the operator: in China the company of record is a licensed Chinese publisher, not the studio.
This is the single most commonly mistaken fact about the Chinese edition. The Chinese launch post, published 2026-09-16 at 10:00 UTC+8, names exactly two things going live: Windows PC, and 云·伊莫 (Cloud Aniimo), a cloud client for iOS and Android. No console appears anywhere in the Chinese launch material. The Traditional Chinese post for the same day, which covers the global release, names Windows PC, two PC storefronts, PlayStation 5 and Xbox. Any sentence of the form "Aniimo launched on PC and consoles" is a statement about the global release and must never be framed as the Chinese one.
Platform | Global release | Chinese release |
|---|---|---|
Windows PC | Live from 2026-09-16 10:00 UTC+8 | Live from 2026-09-16 10:00 UTC+8 |
PlayStation 5 | Live from 2026-09-16 10:00 UTC+8 | Not named in any Chinese launch material as of 2026-09-17 |
Xbox Series X|S | Live from 2026-09-16 10:00 UTC+8 | Not named in any Chinese launch material as of 2026-09-17 |
Xbox cloud gaming | Live from 2026-09-16 10:00 UTC+8 | Not named in any Chinese launch material as of 2026-09-17 |
Cloud client 云·伊莫 | No global equivalent announced as of 2026-09-17 | Live from 2026-09-16 10:00 UTC+8 on iOS and Android |
Native iOS and Android clients | 2026-09-23 | 2026-09-23 |
The Chinese post states that progress is interoperable between the PC build, the cloud client and the native mobile build on one account, the same account model the global release uses. A fault notice posted on a Chinese mobile storefront listing during the launch window reported that the character naming step in the official cloud client could not summon the keyboard, blocking the main flow, and that the problem had been fixed. That notice is useful for a second reason: it is independent evidence that 云·伊莫 is a live, shipping client rather than an announced plan.
The Chinese storefront listing records the native Android release date as 2026-09-23 and the listing information bar date as 2026-09-16, which lines up with the cloud client arriving first and the native build following a week later.
A game published in mainland China carries a publication approval number, commonly called the 版号, and an ISBN issued alongside it. Both are printed in the footer of the Chinese operator's site, together with the operator's filings. These are the formal publication facts for the Chinese edition and they have no global counterpart.

The operator of record is also the supplier named on the Chinese storefront listing, so the same company appears on the licence, the site footer and the store page. The standard mainland healthy gaming advisory is carried on the operator's site alongside the licence block.
Taiwan and the wider Traditional Chinese territory are handled by a separate agent rather than by the mainland operator. The Traditional Chinese storefront text carries a self declared 輔導12級 (PG12) rating with descriptors covering partial costumes emphasising sexual characteristics and fighting without gore, plus an explicit line naming the Taiwan agent. That is a third distinct arrangement, separate from both the global release and the mainland one.
China ran its own third closed beta, the 握爪测试 or Grip Claw Test, and it was a different event from the global playtest that shares the name in English coverage. The Chinese test opened 2026-07-02 at 10:00 UTC+8 with no announced end date, ran on PC, Android and iOS, and was described in the operator's own opening guide as a 限量计费删档测试: a limited quota, billed, data wipe test. Money spent during it was refunded after public launch by in game mail to the same account on the same channel, under a separate published refund rule.
The global playtest that ran in the same window was unbilled, was a PC test, and began 2026-07-09 UTC+8. Two builds under one Chinese name is the correct reading; collapsing them into a single event produces the wrong start date, the wrong platform list and the wrong billing status. See Development for the global test history.
China has run three named closed tests in total, and the names are close enough in English that they get conflated.
Chinese name | Reading | Literal sense | Start date (UTC+8) | Corresponds to |
|---|---|---|---|---|
举爪测试 | Jǔ Zhǎo | Raise Claw Test | 2025-07-04 | First closed beta, PC |
挥爪测试 | Huī Zhǎo | Wave Claw Test | 2026-01-23 | Second closed beta |
握爪测试 | Wò Zhǎo | Grip Claw Test | 2026-07-02 | Third closed beta, billed and data wipe |
The second test also produced the densest run of published changelogs the game has ever had, along with two separate compensation notices covering updates on 25 and 27 January 2026 and a notice adjusting how an experience gem item was obtained. Those are beta era documents and are superseded by the launch build, but as of 2026-09-17 they remain the only published patch notes from that period.
The Chinese opening guide also documents two in game utilities by name: an unstick function, 脱卡, reached from the menu, which teleports the player to the nearest scene, and a customer service entry on the same menu. A daily login event ran under the name 启程吧!联结者 with a 04:00 reset and full rewards at seven cumulative days.
One Chinese test event, 虹光之约, carried a piece of setting text that has no located global counterpart as of 2026-09-17: it describes an institute preserving a number of Prismana Aniimo eggs ten years earlier, during a Prismana Flow at a flower offering ceremony, the eggs having slept since then waiting for a worthy adventurer to choose one. Treat this as Chinese language material that has not been confirmed in the global build's English text. See Prismana and Umbral Aniimo.
The PC client ships thirteen interface languages, four of which carry full voice acting: English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean. Traditional Chinese is present as text only, with no voice track, as of 2026-09-17. The Chinese storefront listing for the mainland edition declares Simplified Chinese as its only supported language, which fits an edition built for one market rather than a global build with a Chinese option.
One hardware requirement still differs between the two Chinese scripts. As of 2026-09-17 the Simplified Chinese storefront sheet gives the recommended operating system as Windows 11 or above, while the Traditional Chinese and English sheets both give Windows 10 64 bit or above. Every other line on the three sheets matches. See System Requirements.
As of 2026-09-17 07:33 UTC+8 the global official site publishes no Simplified Chinese locale. Its own robots file enumerates exactly twelve locales, of which Traditional Chinese is the only Chinese one, and a request for Simplified Chinese content under every plausible locale code returned zero posts. The same call returned 14 posts for Traditional Chinese, 44 for English, 15 for Japanese and 14 for Korean on the same run, so the reader was working and the absence is real. The official creature index behaves the same way: as of 2026-09-17 07:36 UTC+8 it enumerates twelve locales with Traditional Chinese as the only Chinese one, and both that locale and English returned a full 86 entry roster.
Simplified Chinese material therefore lives on the Chinese operator's own site and nowhere else on the first-party surfaces. Anyone looking for Simplified Chinese announcements on the global site will find none, and that is by design rather than an outage.
The Chinese launch guidance covers several points that are specific to the mainland edition.
Topic | What the Chinese launch material states |
|---|---|
Beta data | Historical test data is not carried over and not retained |
Test spending | Top up refunds are claimed after opening, alongside beta rewards |
Sealed eggs | Eggs archived through the Bond Pact event are claimed through a rebate page |
Rebate page contents | The Chinese page additionally shows a top up refund amount, which the Traditional Chinese page does not, because the global playtest took no payments |
Server behaviour | Queueing and slow loading were expected at open |
Anti fraud | Official rewards arrive only through in game events and mail, and staff never ask for a verification code or a payment |
Support entry | In game menu then customer service, or the F10 key on PC |
Channel rewards | Players who pre-registered through Chinese platform channels and then downloaded and registered received a platform customised name card, a Chinese only reward with no global equivalent |
The first published changelog for the game appeared in Simplified Chinese at 2026-09-17 00:43 UTC+8, hours after the servers opened. Its contents are covered on Launch Version Changes.
Three habits prevent most mistakes when working from Chinese material on this game.
Check which site a post came from before trusting a post number. The global site and the Chinese operator's site use overlapping numbers for completely different articles.
Check whether a platform claim is Chinese or global. The two platform sets diverge, and the Chinese one contains no console.
Check the script. Simplified and Traditional use different words for several core terms, not merely different character forms, so converting one into the other silently corrupts them. See Aniimo Terms in Chinese.
