System Requirements
September 27, 2026 at 05:30 AM
Added the official iOS and Android device requirements and controller list, updated the ESRB and Chile ratings, added GeForce NOW and refreshed the Mac check
Aniimo has published a hardware specification for its PC build. The figures below come from the game's own store listing and cover the Windows version. See Development for the studio and release history and Servers and Cross-Play for the full platform line-up.
Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
Operating system | Windows 10, 64-bit | Windows 10 or later, 64-bit |
Processor | Intel Core i7-4770 or AMD Ryzen 7 2700 | Intel Core i7-10700 or AMD Ryzen 5 5600, or better |
Memory | 8 GB RAM | 16 GB RAM |
Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon RX 6600 | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 6800, or better |
DirectX | Version 11 | Version 11 |
Network | Broadband internet connection | Broadband internet connection |
Storage | 40 GB available space | 40 GB available space |
A broadband connection appears in both columns because Aniimo is an always-online game; there is no published offline mode. The 40 GB install size is the same for both tiers. These figures moved in the run-up to release: the specification published earlier in 2026 asked for a ninth-generation Core i7 or a Ryzen 5 3600X, 12 GB of memory and 45 GB of storage, so the floor has come down on processor, memory and storage alike. Every Steam store locale now publishes the same sheet, with one wrinkle: the Simplified Chinese page lists Windows 11 or above in its recommended row where the others say Windows 10 or later.
The PC specification is not identical on every storefront. The Microsoft Store listing for the Windows build publishes a lower sheet of its own, and it names two things the other listing does not: a video memory figure and an architecture requirement.
Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
Operating system | Windows 10 build 18362.0 or higher | Windows 10 build 18362.0 or higher |
Architecture | x64 | x64 |
Processor | Intel Core i5 9th generation or AMD Ryzen 2700, or above | Intel Core i7 9th generation or AMD Ryzen 3700, or above |
Memory | 8 GB | 16 GB |
Graphics | NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1060, AMD Radeon RX 580 or Intel Arc A580 | NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3060 or AMD Radeon RX 6600, or above |
Video memory | 4 GB | 8 GB |
DirectX | Version 11 | DirectX 12 API, hardware feature level 12 |
Input | Integrated keyboard and mouse | Xbox controller or gamepad, integrated microphone |
Treat those as two listings describing the same build rather than one superseding the other. The Microsoft sheet is the more forgiving of the two at minimum and the stricter at recommended, and neither listing publishes an install size for the console versions.
The PC version is delivered through the game's own launcher as well as through the storefronts. The official site serves a launcher executable, and once the client is installed the game is started from the launcher. Pre-download opened on September 14, 2026 at 10:00 (UTC+8) on Windows PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox. Mobile pre-download followed on September 22, 2026 at 00:00 (UTC+8) on the App Store and Google Play, with at least 18 GB of free storage needed.
The Windows client reserves about 40 GB once fully extracted, with a solid state drive recommended. Console installs run 30 to 35 GB, and the PlayStation 5 version can only be installed to the console's internal solid state drive. The minimum operating system is 64-bit Windows 10: Windows 7, Windows 8 and all 32-bit systems cannot run the game. Clients from the closed beta tests can no longer be used and must be replaced with the launch client.
On September 14, 2026 the studio published a notice covering crashes, unexpected exits, freezes, graphical glitches, shader decompilation errors, out of video memory errors and blue screens on a specific set of 13th and 14th generation Intel Core desktop processors. The cause is attributed to a defect in those processors rather than to the game, and affected machines get an in-game pop-up at start-up. See Known Issues for the wider launch-window list.
The published fix is to update the motherboard firmware to a build carrying Intel microcode 0x12B or later. Where that is not possible, the notice suggests lowering the performance core multiplier by two or three steps in Intel's own tuning utility, with 55x down to 53x given as the worked example.
Generation | Affected Processors |
|---|---|
13th generation | Core i5-13600K, i5-13600KF; Core i7-13700, i7-13700F, i7-13700K, i7-13700KF; Core i9-13900, i9-13900F, i9-13900K, i9-13900KF |
14th generation | Core i5-14600K; Core i7-14700, i7-14700F, i7-14700K, i7-14700KF; Core i9-14900, i9-14900F, i9-14900K, i9-14900KF |
On PC, Aniimo supports NVIDIA DLSS 4.5 at launch, including Dynamic Multi Frame Generation and Super Resolution built on the second-generation transformer model. The studio announced the support in March 2026 as part of a broader performance pass on Idyll's environments. DLSS support is a graphics-driver feature and does not indicate which engine the game is built on, which the studio has not confirmed.
A separate voice-interaction feature that lets a Pathfinder chat with their Aniimo, teach them skills and send them to gather resources by voice has been announced as a post-launch update rather than a launch feature. No date, platform list or hardware requirement has been published for it.
The PC client ships in thirteen languages, four of them with full voice acting. Multi-language voiceover for the main story was added for launch, alongside a translation quality pass across every supported language.

Traditional Chinese is an interface and subtitle language only. The store listing marks English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean as the four that carry full audio, and the same thirteen locale codes appear on the mobile listing.
The Xbox listing declares a wider set of locale codes than this. Where the two disagree, the thirteen above are the ones tied to the PC client itself.
The game carries native titles in several of those markets. It is published as 伊莫 in Chinese, written identically in the simplified script used by the Simplified Chinese listing and the traditional script used by the Traditional Chinese one, as アニモ in Japanese katakana, and as 애니모 in Korean hangul.

Online co-op | Yes |
Cross-platform multiplayer | Yes |
Full controller support | Yes |
DualSense and DualShock controllers | Yes |

Cross-platform play is a stated design pillar rather than an afterthought, and the feature list matches it; see Egg Heist and PvP for how the multiplayer modes use it.
The Xbox version adds 4K output, HDR, ray tracing, Dolby Atmos, console keyboard and mouse support, and Play Anywhere. Whether online play on Xbox consoles needs a paid subscription tier is unresolved as of September 17, 2026: the console listing attaches a generic subscription note to its cloud play action, and no first-party statement settles it. The game itself is free and does not require Xbox Live Gold. The PlayStation version requires an online connection, supports Remote Play, and requires the DualSense controller's vibration and adaptive trigger functions.
Aniimo has been rated by classification boards across most of its launch markets. Every board also flags that users interact online and that the game contains in-game purchases.
Board | Rating | Content Descriptors |
|---|---|---|
ESRB (North America) | Teen | Fantasy violence, language |
PEGI (Europe) | 7 | Mild violence |
USK (Germany) | 6 | Comic violence, dark atmosphere |
GRB (South Korea) | All ages | Fear, horror or threat elements |
DJCTQ (Brazil) | Livre, general audiences | Fantasy violence |
Australian Classification | PG | Scary scenes, online interactivity and chat |
Poland | 12 | Violence |
Taiwan | PG12, guidance 12 and over | Violence, horror |
Chile | 14 | Not listed |
IARC | 7 | Mild violence |
The Taiwanese rating notes both bloodless combat violence and some characters' figure-emphasising clothing. The App Store lists the iOS build at a 9+ age rating, citing infrequent or mild cartoon and fantasy violence and infrequent or mild contests. As of September 27, 2026 the Android listing carries Teen, with fantasy violence and language, users interact and in-game purchases that include random items, matching the board data above; when first checked on September 17, 2026 it showed Everyone 10+ with fantasy violence only.
Some storefronts carry self-declared placeholder ratings for territories that differ from the board data above, notably for Brazil and Germany. Where they disagree, the board ratings listed here are the ones published through the console catalogue.
Several of these ratings changed after launch. When first recorded on September 17, 2026 the ESRB rating was Everyone 10+ for fantasy violence. As of September 27, 2026 the console and Android storefronts all show Teen, adding language as a descriptor and flagging the in-game purchases as including random items. Chile's rating rose from 8 to 14 over the same period, and Taiwan's interactive element changed from in-game purchases to includes random items. The App Store's 9+ rating and the other boards were unchanged.
Platform | Published Requirement |
|---|---|
iOS | Official specification: minimum iPhone 11 (A13 chip), iOS 16 and 4 GB of RAM; recommended iPhone 14 Pro (A16 chip) or newer, iOS 16 or later and 6 GB of RAM or more; 18 GB of free storage. The App Store listing itself states a lower floor of iOS 15.0, and the two had not been reconciled as of September 27, 2026. Store build 1.0.3 on that date, about 3.7 GB to download. The listing named 130 supported devices when checked on September 17, 2026. Game Center enabled. |
Android | Official specification: minimum Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 or MediaTek Dimensity 1000, Android 10, 6 GB of RAM and Vulkan 1.1; recommended Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 or Dimensity 9200 or better, Android 10, 8 GB of RAM or more and Vulkan 1.1 or later; 18 GB of free storage. A phone whose GPU lacks Vulkan 1.1 support may refuse to install or fail to start the game. The store listing, filed under role playing, publishes no hardware requirement of its own. |
Mac | No Mac specification published as of September 27, 2026, and no Mac build is listed on any storefront that carries the game. |
PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X and S | Console installs run 30 to 35 GB, and the PlayStation 5 client can only be installed to the console's internal solid state drive. The official specification sheet gives consoles a storage figure and nothing else, and the console listings publish feature flags rather than numbers. |
Xbox cloud gaming | No client specification published. The Xbox listing flags the game as playable through cloud gaming and on handheld devices. |
GeForce NOW | Supported since September 17, 2026. The game stays free, but playing it through the streaming service needs a GeForce NOW membership on the Free, Performance or Ultimate tier. |
The official specification sheet, dated September 14, 2026 and published with the mobile pre-download, repeats the PC figures with a few differences from the store listing: it names an AMD Radeon RX 5600 at minimum and an RX 6700 at recommended where the store listing names an RX 6600 and an RX 6800, it gives DirectX 11 or 12 as the graphics API, and it recommends a solid state drive. The sheet warns that devices below the minimum may not launch or run properly.
The same sheet lists supported controllers. On mobile these are PlayStation 5 and Xbox controllers over Bluetooth, the EasySMX M20, the GameSir G8+ (an Apple MFi-certified telescopic controller) and the GameSir X4 Aileron, which is Android only; telescopic controllers made for Android do not work on iOS. Nintendo Switch and Joy-Con controllers are not supported on mobile, and neither is controller vibration. On PC the list covers PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 controllers including the DualSense Edge, Xbox, Xbox Elite and Xbox 360 controllers, the Nintendo Switch Pro Controller and Nintendo Switch 2 Pro Controller, and the 8BitDo Pro 2, Betop Asura and Machenike G5 Pro. A PlayStation 4 controller working on PC does not make the PlayStation 4 a supported platform.
On mobile, a 60 FPS mode is available on all but a small number of lower-end devices and can make a phone run warm; lowering the graphics quality or rendering scale reduces the heat. Tablets and other large-screen devices switch to a large-screen mode with a higher rendering scale automatically.
The PC store listing covers only the Windows build, so its Mac requirements block is empty and its platform flags declare Windows only. Mac was named as a launch platform in official mid-2026 material and it still appears in the game's own platform line-up, but as of September 27, 2026, re-checked after the mobile launch, no Mac build had shown up on any of the storefronts that carry the game: the Steam listing, the Microsoft catalogue, the PlayStation Store, Google Play and the Apple listing, which covers iPhone and iPad only and is not offered for Apple silicon Macs. The game's official download configuration lists client downloads for Windows, iOS and Android with no Mac entry of any kind. Treat Mac availability as announced rather than shipped; nothing published says it was cancelled either.
Aniimo launched on September 16, 2026, at 10:00 (UTC+8) on PC, consoles and Xbox cloud gaming. The iOS and Android versions followed on September 23, 2026 at 10:00 (UTC+8), after a mobile pre-download that opened on September 22 at 00:00 (UTC+8).
One date to watch out for: the Steam storefront shows the release as September 15, 2026 because it renders release times in Pacific time. September 16 at 10:00 (UTC+8) is September 15 at 19:00 Pacific, so that is the same moment and not a separate date.
