Aniimo launched as a free-to-play title on September 16, 2026, at 10:00 (UTC+8) on PC, consoles and Xbox cloud gaming, and the mobile versions are scheduled for September 23, 2026. Pre-orders opened about a month ahead of that first date and have since closed. The base game costs nothing on every platform, and two paid packs sit alongside it, bundling the game's battle pass with cosmetic and progression extras. This page collects the confirmed editions, their prices, and the platform pre-order bonuses; the wider release history lives on Development.
This is the first thing to know, because it is easy to get wrong: the paid packs are a console-storefront offer. They are sold on the PlayStation Store and the Microsoft and Xbox Store, and they are not sold on Steam at all. A Steam search for the game returns a single free entry with no edition or add-on products attached.
Storefront | Base Game | Advanced Edition | Collector's Edition |
|---|---|---|---|
Steam | Free | Not sold | Not sold |
Epic Games Store | Free | Not confirmed | Not confirmed |
Microsoft and Xbox Store | Free | Sold | Sold |
PlayStation Store | Free | Sold | Sold |
App Store | Free | Not listed separately | Not listed separately |
Google Play | Free | Not listed separately | Not listed separately |
There is also no product literally named a Standard Edition anywhere. The free base game is simply Aniimo. The Android listing went live ahead of the September 23 mobile release and, like the iOS one, carries neither a pre-order nor a paid pack, and as of September 17, 2026 the Android listing publishes no download count and no user rating.
Pre-orders went live on the PlayStation Store on August 13, 2026, with Xbox following on August 14, and the studio announced the launch date through the same campaign. The pre-order window closed on September 16, 2026 at 09:59 (UTC+8), one minute before the game went live.
Pre-ordering is separate from the free pre-registration campaign and its milestone rewards; the packs are optional purchases on top of a game that remains free-to-play with in-app purchases.
The packs did not convert into ordinary purchases when the window shut. As of September 17, 2026 both products still carry their pre-order titles on the console catalogue, both report a list price of zero, and neither offers a purchase action: what they offer is redemption and licence handling, with the redemption window opening at the launch instant. Anyone who bought during the campaign can still claim; nobody can buy one now.
Edition | USD | GBP | EUR | JPY |
|---|---|---|---|---|
Advanced Edition | $9.99 | £7.99 | €9.99 | ¥1,500 |
Collector's Edition | $19.99 | £18.99 | €23.99 | ¥3,000 |
Those are the prices the pre-order campaign ran at. Because neither pack is offered for direct purchase on the console storefronts as of September 17, 2026, the figures above stand as a record of that campaign rather than as current prices.
Item | Detail |
|---|---|
Platform accessory | One in-game accessory, exclusive to the platform it was bought on. |
Advanced Companion Handbook | The game's battle pass. Rewards inside it unlock gradually as the handbook levels up. |
Companion Handbook-Exclusive Prismana Aniimo Egg | Used at the Outpost Hatchinator to hatch a Prismana Form Aniimo with Perfect Potential. |
Companion Handbook-Exclusive Evolution Material | Used for the branching evolution of the handbook-exclusive Aniimo. |
Other rewards | Further in-game items and benefits, not itemised. |
Item | Detail |
|---|---|
Platform accessory | The same platform-exclusive accessory as the Advanced Edition. |
Collector's Companion Handbook | The higher battle pass tier, described on one storefront as a Path Pass. |
Companion Handbook-Exclusive Prismana Aniimo Egg | As above. |
Companion Handbook-Exclusive Evolution Material | As above. |
Exclusive Doll | A cosmetic item. |
Exclusive Avatar Frame | A cosmetic item. |
Primegy Battery | Granted immediately. This item appears only in the Xbox listing and not the PlayStation one, so treat it as unconfirmed for both. |
The accessory is swapped by platform rather than added to. A PlayStation purchase includes Fluffy Friend and only Fluffy Friend; an Xbox purchase includes Doggo Dude and only Doggo Dude. Buying one edition does not grant both.
Platform | Exclusive Pre-Order Accessory |
|---|---|
PlayStation | Fluffy Friend |
Xbox | Doggo Dude |
Companion Handbook is the game's name for its battle pass. It is an in-game item, and once redeemed it stays active until the end of the current version, so it is version-scoped rather than permanent. The exclusive Prismana egg inside it can also vary by version, with the actual creature received depending on which version the handbook was redeemed in.
The console listings give each pack a second name for the tier it unlocks: the Advanced Edition grants the in-game Premium Pass and the Collector's Edition grants the in-game Collector's Pass, with the Companion Handbook as the item that activates it. The exclusive Prismana egg inside the Handbook rotates with each version, so the creature received depends on which version it was redeemed in. A player can hold several redemption cards at once but only one paid tier per version, unused redemption items do not expire and roll forward, and upgrading from the Advanced tier to the Collector's tier inside one period is a paid upgrade. The full picture is on Companion Handbook and Passes, and the premium currency the store runs on is covered on Lumin Crystals and Currencies.
Separately from the paid packs, the free pre-registration campaign cleared all four of its published milestone tiers before launch, with global sign-ups passing 30 million during the week of September 9, 2026.
Milestone | Reward |
|---|---|
10 million | Glimmer x200 |
15 million | Aniipod Ultra x2 |
20 million | Companion Promise limited avatar frame |
30 million | Sunlit Meadow limited outfit |
Further pre-registration benefits announced alongside those tiers include a free Prismana Form Aniimo of the player's choice on reaching the Grade I Wayfarer rank, accessories for hitting Aniilog milestones, catching items including the Sparkling Cube, Aniipod Ultra and Tumbler, a Susuta egg for registering through the official site, a random Perfect Egg for multi-day logins, and four outfits earned through story quests, Homeland features and cumulative check-ins.
For the launch date announcement and the closed beta history, see Development; the game's convention appearances in the run-up to release are collected on Events and Showcases.
