Launch and Reception
October 13, 2026 at 09:49 PM
Added a third dated reading of storefront player ratings and East Asian review locales on October 13, 2026
Aniimo’s release was split in two. The PC, console and Xbox cloud gaming versions went live on September 16, 2026 at 10:00 (UTC+8), and the iOS and Android versions followed a week later, on September 23, 2026 at 10:00 (UTC+8). That gap was the most misread fact of launch week: for seven days the game was out on desktop and console but not on phones and tablets. For the platform line-up see Servers and Cross-Play, and for how the shipping build differs from the one testers played see Launch Version Changes.
This page covers the release itself and the reception that followed it, measured a day after the servers opened and again on September 27 and October 13, 2026. The studio and release history sit on Development, and the paid packs sold alongside the free base game are on Pre-Orders and Editions.
The international build runs on three regional servers and the studio published a separate opening time for each. All three are the same instant written in three zones, which is why the release date looks different depending on where it is read.
Server | Published opening time | Same instant in UTC |
|---|---|---|
Aniimo-America | September 15, 2026, 22:00 (UTC-4) | September 16, 2026, 02:00 |
Aniimo-Europe | September 16, 2026, 02:00 (UTC+0) | September 16, 2026, 02:00 |
Aniimo-Apac | September 16, 2026, 10:00 (UTC+8) | September 16, 2026, 02:00 |
The PC storefront renders its release date in Pacific time and therefore displays September 15, 2026. That is the same moment as every row above, not a fourth date, and there was no separate earlier launch for the Americas. System Requirements records the same trap from the store listing’s side. The only genuinely different date in the release is the mobile one, covered below.
Pre-download opened two days ahead of the servers, on September 14, 2026 at 10:00 (UTC+8), on Windows PC, PlayStation 5 and Xbox. The PC client needs roughly 40 GB of free space and the console clients 30 to 35 GB, and the PlayStation 5 build installs only to the console’s internal SSD.

Before the servers opened the studio told players to expect login queues and slower loading while the launch crowd arrived, and to treat both as load symptoms rather than faults. It restated two things at the same time: the closed beta clients could no longer be used, and beta progress would not carry over and would not be retained. The one carry-over is the sealed-egg reward from the beta farewell event, and the rules for claiming it are on Accounts and Aniimo Pass.
Support during the launch window ran through the in-game menu or the F10 hotkey on PC. A fair play and anti-cheat policy went up one hour before the servers opened, at 09:00 (UTC+8) on September 16; see Fair Play Policy.
The first patch arrived within a day. Version 1.0.3535596.0 was published under the heading of fixes for frequent disconnects and reconnections, and it also fixed items bought on Xbox and on Xbox on PC failing to reach the buyer’s account. The full changelog is on Update History and the faults that stayed open are on Known Issues.
Mobile pre-download opened on the App Store and Google Play on September 22, 2026 at 00:00 (UTC+8), and the studio asked for at least 18 GB of free space and a stable Wi-Fi connection before downloading. Both mobile listings date themselves to September 21, 2026. That is the day the pre-download build went up in Pacific time, not the release date.
The servers opened to mobile players at one instant, written in the same three zones as the PC and console launch.
Server | Mobile opening time | Same instant in UTC |
|---|---|---|
Aniimo-America | September 22, 2026, 22:00 (UTC-4) | September 23, 2026, 02:00 |
Aniimo-Europe | September 23, 2026, 02:00 (UTC+0) | September 23, 2026, 02:00 |
Aniimo-Apac | September 23, 2026, 10:00 (UTC+8) | September 23, 2026, 02:00 |
The launch shared its morning with Version 1.1. Every server was down for maintenance until the opening time and came back a few minutes late; the Chinese-language text of the studio's notice puts the delay at five minutes. The studio added 500 Glimmer for the late opening on top of the 500 already promised for the maintenance, plus one Sparkling Cube for known issues. The in-game mailbox was briefly unavailable, so the compensation was queued and sent as two mails once it came back.
Mobile has full cross-progression with PC and console: signing in to the same server with the same account carries over adventure progress, resources and party lineups. A 60 FPS mode is available on all but a small number of lower-end devices, tablets switch to a large-screen mode with a higher rendering scale automatically, and Android phones need Vulkan 1.1 support. Device requirements are on System Requirements.
The mobile launch announcement repeated the launch rewards and added one for playing across devices: logging in on both PC and mobile grants Glimmer and other rewards. The same announcement put global pre-registrations past 40 million. By September 27, 2026 the iOS listing carried the App Store's Editors' Choice badge.

Reception here is measured from storefront player ratings, because those are the numbers the platforms publish directly and attach a sample size to. The figures below were read on September 17, 2026 (UTC+8), roughly a day after the servers opened, and a sample that young moves quickly.
Storefront | Rating | Sample |
|---|---|---|
PC storefront | Mixed, 57.9 percent positive | 4,066 reviews (2,356 positive, 1,710 negative) |
PlayStation Store | 4.3 out of 5 | 1,422 ratings |
Xbox Store | 4.3 out of 5 | 272 ratings |
Those three numbers do not tell the same story, and the gap is worth stating rather than averaging away. The two console stores sit comfortably positive on a five-point scale while the PC storefront’s written reviews sit at Mixed. The two systems are not measuring the same thing: a console star rating is a single tap, while a PC review is a written post from a player who chose to write one, which tends to draw more from players with a specific complaint.
The same storefronts were read again on September 27, 2026, eleven days after the PC and console launch and four days after mobile. The PC score rose sharply while both console scores slipped, so the gap between the two systems closed from both sides.
Storefront | September 17, 2026 | September 27, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
PC storefront | Mixed, 57.9 percent positive, 4,066 reviews | Mostly Positive, 73.8 percent positive, 18,710 reviews |
PlayStation Store | 4.3 out of 5, 1,422 ratings | 4.04 out of 5, 5,649 ratings |
Xbox Store | 4.3 out of 5, 272 ratings | 3.8 out of 5, 1,064 ratings |
App Store (United States) | Not yet released | 3.61 out of 5, 1,247 ratings |
Google Play (United States display) | Not yet released | 3.23 out of 5, 18,049 ratings |
The PlayStation figure is polarised: on September 27, 66 percent of its ratings were five stars and 17 percent were one star, with little in between. The App Store keeps a separate count per country; the same day Japan stood at 3.26 from 614 ratings and South Korea at 3.10 from 317. Google Play pools its ratings but weights the average it displays by country, so the same 18,049 ratings showed as 3.23 in the United States and 2.43 in Japan. Its install figure was zeroed out rather than published, so the listing gives no download count.
A third reading on October 13, 2026, four weeks after the PC and console launch, found the PC score still at Mostly Positive and both console averages slightly lower again. The two mobile stores moved the most: both rose sharply while their rating counts grew several times over.
Storefront | September 27, 2026 | October 13, 2026 |
|---|---|---|
PC storefront | Mostly Positive, 73.8 percent positive, 18,710 reviews | Mostly Positive, 73.1 percent positive, 25,397 reviews |
PlayStation Store | 4.04 out of 5, 5,649 ratings | 4.00 out of 5, 7,603 ratings |
Xbox Store | 3.8 out of 5, 1,064 ratings | 3.7 out of 5, 2,881 ratings |
App Store (United States) | 3.61 out of 5, 1,247 ratings | 4.5 out of 5, 5,012 ratings |
Google Play (United States display) | 3.23 out of 5, 18,049 ratings | 4.85 out of 5, 38,973 ratings |
On the same date 64 percent of the PlayStation ratings were five stars and 17 percent one star, so the split seen on September 27 had barely changed. The Xbox store's 30-day average was 3.6 from 2,748 ratings, which means nearly all of its ratings had arrived in the previous month. Google Play's United States listing now showed more than one million downloads, where on September 27 it had published no install figure.
Critic reviews were broadly favourable. As of September 27, 2026 a dozen published critic reviews averaged 78 out of 100.
The headline PC figure hides a sharp divide by review language. Every East Asian locale sat in negative territory on launch day while every Western locale sat at Mixed or better. This is the part of the reception picture most easily lost in a single aggregate number, so it is set out in full.
Review language | Reviews | Positive | Summary |
|---|---|---|---|
English | 1,942 | 59.5 percent | Mixed |
Brazilian Portuguese | 354 | 70.0 percent | Mostly Positive |
Simplified Chinese | 335 | 20.0 percent | Mostly Negative |
French | 281 | 64.8 percent | Mixed |
German | 223 | 68.2 percent | Mixed |
Russian | 190 | 61.6 percent | Mixed |
Korean | 128 | 38.3 percent | Mostly Negative |
Traditional Chinese | 84 | 33.3 percent | Mostly Negative |
Latin American Spanish | 55 | 69.0 percent | Mixed |
Japanese | 46 | 28.3 percent | Mostly Negative |
Thai | 44 | 75.0 percent | Mostly Positive |
Vietnamese | 13 | 84.6 percent | Sample too small to summarise |
Indonesian | 4 | Not published | Sample too small to summarise |
Two caveats belong with that table. Review language is the language a review was written in, not the country the reviewer lives in, so it is a rough proxy for region rather than a measurement of one. And the four negative locales together account for 593 of the 4,066 reviews, so the overall percentage is still dominated by the English-language block; the divergence is real, but it is not what pulled the aggregate down to Mixed on its own.
The studio has not published a response to the regional split as of September 17, 2026 (UTC+8), and no reason for it should be inferred from the numbers alone. What can be said is that the game shipped with full voice acting in four languages, English, Simplified Chinese, Japanese and Korean, so three of the four negative locales are locales the build treats as first-tier. Interface text faults in German, French, Russian, Spanish and Japanese were fixed in the day-one patch.
By September 27, 2026 the regional split had narrowed but not closed. Simplified Chinese was the only review language still at Mostly Negative. Japanese, Traditional Chinese and Korean had all moved up to Mixed, and every Western locale re-measured was at Mostly Positive or better.
Review language | Reviews | Positive | Summary on September 27, 2026 |
|---|---|---|---|
English | 9,209 | 73.9 percent | Mostly Positive |
Brazilian Portuguese | 1,989 | 84.9 percent | Very Positive |
French | 1,326 | 79.7 percent | Mostly Positive |
German | 1,091 | 79.7 percent | Mostly Positive |
Russian | 979 | 71.4 percent | Mostly Positive |
Simplified Chinese | 792 | 27.5 percent | Mostly Negative |
Korean | 419 | 58.9 percent | Mixed |
Traditional Chinese | 338 | 55.0 percent | Mixed |
Japanese | 151 | 49.7 percent | Mixed |
The East Asian review languages were read again on October 13, 2026. Simplified Chinese was still the only one at Mostly Negative, at 27.8 percent positive from 948 reviews. Korean had risen to 63.4 percent from 554 reviews and Traditional Chinese stood at 54.4 percent from 478, both still Mixed, and Japanese was unchanged at 49.7 percent, now from 187 reviews. English-language reviews stood at 72.0 percent positive from 12,479, still Mostly Positive.
No concurrent-player figure is recorded here. Aniimo publishes no player count of its own and none is derivable from the storefront data itself, so any number circulating for launch-day concurrency as of September 17, 2026 (UTC+8) is an estimate rather than a published figure.
Pre-registration is a separate measurement from reception and should not be read as one. The official site’s own pre-registration counter stood above 35 million on September 17, 2026 (UTC+8), having passed 30 million during the week before launch, which cleared every published milestone tier, and the studio's mobile launch announcement on September 23 put it past 40 million. Those numbers describe interest ahead of release, not how the release was received. The milestone rewards are listed on Pre-Orders and Editions.
The free launch rewards themselves were substantial: a free Aniimo in its Prismana Form on reaching Grade I Wayfarer, accessories at Aniimo Creatures collection milestones, Sparkling Cubes, Aniipod Ultras and Tumblers from launch activities, a random Perfect Aniimo Egg for cumulative logins, four free outfits, and all four pre-registration milestone tiers granted at once. A launch squad feature granted every member of a six-person group an Aniipod Ultra, with further supplies for cumulative logins.
