Added the catching tool table, the lucky strike mechanic, guaranteed Perfect Potential from Sparkling Cubes, and how Forms change spawn locations
11Catching wild Aniimo is a central activity in Aniimo, and it is done with devices called Aniipods. Rather than a guaranteed capture, catching is a test of timing and judgement that the game frames as a thrill in itself.223+34Using Aniipods4556Pathfinders throw Aniipods to capture creatures, and can set traps and time their attempts for the best chance of success. The official description emphasises the uncertainty of every catch, so reading a creature's behaviour and choosing the right moment matters. Captures happen directly in the field as you explore, without switching to a separate battle screen, keeping the action continuous.678+Catching Tools7910+ToolWhat It DoesAniipodThe standard catching device.Aniipod UltraA premium version of the catching tool, given out as a pre-registration milestone reward.Sparkling CubeA catching item. A creature caught with one has guaranteed Perfect Potential.TumblerA catching item named alongside the Sparkling Cube and Aniipod Ultra in the pre-registration rewards.Legendary AniipodCrafted by the player from legendary tokens, and used once, on a specific [[legendary-aniimoLegendary Aniimo]].11+Lucky Strikes12+13+The launch build added a lucky strike to catching. A lucky strike grants item rewards, raises the surrounding area's Prismatic Energy, and can directly trigger a Prismana Flow, which is the event that produces a Prismana Form creature. That makes ordinary catching a feeder for the rarity system rather than a separate activity from it.14+15+Wild spawn rates for high-potential creatures were also raised for launch, specifically at the 9/9 and 10/10 grades.16+817Dynamic Spawns91810-Which Aniimo appear is not fixed. Creatures show up according to the environment, the weather, ongoing phenomena, and the time of day, so exploring the world at different times and in different conditions turns up different companions. This makes discovery an ongoing part of building a collection. For example, wild Aniimo such as Nimbi appear in Nimbus Fields and Bolties in Blitzwood. Each species also keeps to particular parts of Idyll: Crescent Bay draws water Aniimo such as Gachapus and Coraliz, Blitzwood attracts electric types like Bolty, and areas such as Beast Fang Ridge, Rosetower Woods, and the Tideblossom Coast each host their own regular residents.19+Which Aniimo appear is not fixed. A pre-registration reward called the Aniipod Ultra has been shown among the game's items, hinting at variations on the basic catching tool. Specific catch rates and Aniipod tiers have not been detailed.23+A creature's Form changes where it lives. The same species can be a Basic Form in one region and a Highland or Snowfield Form somewhere else entirely, with a different elemental pairing attached, so hunting a specific Form means hunting a specific place.15241625Recording and Managing a Catch172618-Every catch is logged in the Aniilog, the game's creature index, which tracks each species alongside the individual Forms a Pathfinder has unlocked. Caught Aniimo are then handled from an Aniimo Management screen, and can be assigned to expeditions that take them out of the active roster for a time. Individual creatures also differ in quality, not just species: a Sparkling rarity and a class of Alpha Aniimo have both been confirmed, and each catch carries an Acquired Potential rating that grades its aptitude. See Aniimo Creatures for how Forms, rarity, and aptitude fit together.27+Every catch is logged in the Aniilog, the game's creature index, which tracks each species alongside the individual Forms a Pathfinder has unlocked. Unlocking a Form in the Aniilog is what makes that version of a creature usable, a rule the studio spelled out when explaining how creatures sealed during the last beta would be restored.28+29+Caught Aniimo are then handled from an Aniimo Management screen, and can be assigned to expeditions that take them out of the active roster for a time.30+31+Quality and Rarity32+33+Individual creatures differ in quality, not just species. A Sparkling rarity and a class of Alpha Aniimo have both been confirmed, and each catch carries an Acquired Potential rating that grades its aptitude, with Perfect Potential at the top. Umbral Aniimo carry Perfect Potential and a distinctive colouration by definition. See Prismana and Umbral Aniimo for how Forms, rarity, and aptitude fit together, and Aniimo Creatures for the index itself.34+35+Special eggs, including the Prismana egg bundled with the paid pre-order packs, are hatched at the Outpost Hatchinator rather than caught.
