The Spring Trial is an optional mini-dungeon in Koro Valley, set in a hidden temple area known as the Eternal Spring. The temple gate sits behind a Divine Seal near the valley's Lakeside stretch, and the dungeon opens up after the main Chapter 2 content. An early progression blocker inside the Trial was fixed in Hotfix 0.1.0-7.
Unlocking
The side quest "Unlock the way to Eternal Spring", picked up in Lyhamn's Wellspring area after finishing Chapter 2's main content, points Juno at the sealed gate. Opening it requires the Fulcrum Mark, a key found on the southeastern side of South Bend, before the Grand Passage bridge.
One corner of the dungeon is reachable much earlier through a separate entrance from Lumber Corner, and hides an artifact.
Layout
The Trial is built around one central chamber with two looping paths that both feed back into it, so progression is linear despite the loops. Community mapping of the current build labels six rooms: the central cave that hosts the dungeon's main fight, two divine puzzle rooms, two cave stretches mixing Nyx battles with puzzles, and a final room holding a small Nest. All encounters on a first clear are scripted and do not respawn.
Treasures
Contents | Location |
|---|---|
Winged Boots (artifact) | Puzzle cave, reached from the Lumber Corner entrance |
Crude Laurel (gem) | Same cave stretch |
Runner's Cuirass (gem) | Later cave stretch |
Treasure Sense (artifact) | Final room, from the red nest at the temple's end |
Rewards
The Trial is the current build's main source of artifacts: the Winged Boots and Treasure Sense both come from here. Its two gem treasures also make previously unobtainable enchantments available, including Berserker on the Runner's Cuirass. Aether Trial Vases can be foraged inside, sometimes dropping Shards of Order.
