1010 Truffle is obtained by completing the Boar Whistle altar quest. The altar sits on a small island in the Foothills region, near the Brethren of the Coast waters (the exact map position varies with the procedural seed). Reaching the altar requires a seaworthy ship, which comes online after I Need a Bigger Boat. The altar accepts two offerings:

Against bosses and Senkamati elites with high Stagger Defence, Truffle's pressure helps open windows for the player's damage weapon:

The value is the poise-break contribution plus aggro control, not burst damage.

The practical consequence is that rushing the altar early in a playthrough gives a perpetually weak companion; players who want Truffle to remain useful through the endgame should hold off on the altar until at least mid-Foothills progression.

Each whistle has an independent cooldown, so a full party of four can rotate Truffle summons to keep a companion active continuously during long boss engagements.
