Tortuga Buyer

Tortuga Buyer is a Tortuga Trader stationed in the town of Tortuga. This NPC buys a wide range of loot and trade goods in exchange for Piastres, converting tradeable pickups into spendable currency without gating the transaction on faction reputation.

Where a faction Buyer cares about your reputation score, a Tortuga Trader does not. The trade-off is that base payouts tend to be lower than faction-tier Buyers on items the factions specifically value, so the Tortuga Buyer is best used as a universal fallback for goods that no faction treats as a priority commodity.

Location and Access

Tortuga Buyer is located in the Tortuga settlement, accessible once the player reaches the town in Early Access. The vendor does not require reputation with any faction, and there is no minimum story progression gate beyond first arrival in Tortuga.

Sell-side transactions resolve instantly; you hand over an item, and Piastres drop directly into your inventory at the rate listed below. The Tortuga Buyer does not stock anything for purchase.

Tips

Gold relic items (Gold Mask of the Priest, Gold Temple Jug, Gold Vase of the Chief) pay 300 Piastres each, which is by far the best Piastres-per-inventory-slot rate on any town vendor.
Salt, Cane Sugar, and Coffee Beans pay the same 3 Piastres each whether you sell them here or stash them; if you are traveling through Tortuga with extras, sell the surplus rather than carrying it.
Crocodile Head pays 50 Piastres, the single highest animal-head bounty. If you are farming crocs in the Coastal Jungle, route through the Tortuga Buyer before returning to base.
The Tortuga Buyer is currency-driven and reputation-neutral. For items your active faction values more (insignias, faction-marked contraband, ship kits), the faction Buyer generally pays better and also contributes to reputation, so reserve the Tortuga Buyer for items no faction treats as priority.
