3636 Interacting with the bed lets you set it as your revival point, so you respawn here after dying instead of at the previous spawn. The bed must be placed under a roof to function, the same requirement shared by every bed in the game. A roofed bed inside Bonfire range is the standard home-base setup.

4848 The recipe is taught by the Decoration: Simple Bed with Headboard plan and builds in about one second. It costs 5 Plant Fiber, 3 Wood, 2 Rope, and 5 Triton's Horn. The first three materials are beach-trivial, so the only real gate is gathering Triton's Horn, which sets this bed slightly above the plain Simple Bed in cost.
