Retribution is a talent in the Crusher branch of the Windrose Talent System. Increases the efficiency of the built-in attack-based Temporal Health to permanent Health conversion rate. Only meaningful for weapons that generate Temporal Health (Plague family).

Retribution sits in the Crusher branch, the two-handed and heavy-weapon tree, and costs one talent point per rank for a total of three points to max. Points spent here can be refunded with a free respec, so it is safe to test on a Plague loadout and pull back out if you switch weapons. The talent does not raise your damage; it only improves how much Temporal Health your hits convert back into permanent health.

Situational. Strong specifically for Plague weapon self-heal loops paired with You Will Answer For This. Trap on every other two-handed build.
Temporal Health (mechanic parent)
The conversion only triggers while you keep attacking, so the loop rewards staying on target. Take a hit to build the Temporal Health buffer, then land fast Plague swings before it decays to claw that health back. With You Will Answer for This feeding a larger buffer and Retribution amplifying the return, an aggressive Crusher can stay topped up through extended fights without potions.
Because it is purely defensive value, prioritize damage and survivability talents first on a fresh character, then add Retribution once you commit to a Plague weapon. If you respec away from Plague gear, refund these points; on a non-Plague build they do nothing.

Retribution is the Plague family's self-sustain multiplier. It only meaningfully benefits builds running the Plague Halberd, Plague Pistol, or Arboris Saber, because only those weapons reclaim Temporal Health into permanent health on attack. On any other weapon the converted amount is zero, so the talent is wasted.
At rank 0 with no talent, Plague Halberd converts approximately 10 Temporal Health per swing back into permanent HP on a hit. At rank 3 Retribution (+100% effectiveness), the same swing returns 20 Temporal Health per hit. Over a 20-swing Plague Halberd boss rotation, that is 400 HP of self-sustain vs 200 HP without the talent.
Stacks with You Will Answer For This, which controls how much damage becomes Temporal in the first place. Both talents together multiply the full loop.
Trap pick for non-Plague builds. Retribution does nothing for a pure Executioner halberd loadout because that weapon does not generate Temporal Health.
