1010 On Fools is one of the Lost Cargo journal notes that drops from the Blackbeard Crew Chest found at the Pirate Camps scattered across the archipelago. The chest can appear at several small camp sites, and the note pulls at roughly a one percent chance, so collecting the full set takes repeated raids on these camps. The journal stacks high in your inventory but has no combat or crafting use; it is a readable lore item only.

1515 On Fools shows the open hostility between the Thomas Richards crew and the Israel Hands crew over the same artifact. Richards's men came to take it back by force and were slaughtered for it, which fixes the timeline: Hands already held the artifact and was willing to kill to keep it. The contempt in the closing line, calling them fools 'just like their captain,' mirrors the disdain the Hands crew shows toward outsiders throughout the Lost Cargo notes.

On Hands records the captain unraveling after taking the artifact, and On Prisoners records the crew being sent out to seize captives, so On Fools supplies the violent first contact that started the feud.
