1122Overview3344Dragon's Breath is a Rare / Epic blunderbuss-class ranged weapon in Windrose. A small, single-shot blunderbuss that spits a dense cone of flame, blasting aside everything in its path.5566Blunderbusses are two-handed close-range scatter firearms that scale with Agility. They fire a dense cone of shot and are the shotgun-equivalent of the firearm family. Blunderbusses reward committed aggressive play: at point-blank range a volley can cripple elite enemies, at mid-to-long range the spread renders them ineffective. Like all firearms, they consume Gunpowder and require Master's Tools in the upgrade bands.7788At a Glance991010FieldValueWeapon ClassBlunderbussesRarityRare / EpicDamage160 PierceScalingAgility (D at Rare, C at Epic)ATK (Item Level 15)380ATK (Level 1 crafted)100Stack Size1FlavorJust make sure you don't singe your mustache.1111Effects12121313Rare and Epic variants share a base effect. Ingredients: Dragon's Breath x1, Tumbaga Ingot x9. The ascension consumes the Rare weapon. See Tumbaga Ingot for sourcing notes and Upgrade System for the full ascension mechanic.29293030How to Obtain31313232Drops from Old Skeleton chests in Ancient Ruins, Crypts, Ruin with a Flowerbed, and Tainted Ruins at 5-10%.Not sold by any vendor.33333434Tactical Usage35353636The fire-themed blunderbuss. The 60% fire explosion proc turns it into a small AoE tool, especially strong against grouped plague thralls and the Cursed Swamps packs. Its 160 damage sits below Reliable Blunderbuss (180), but the proc-based fire layer makes up the gap in sustained multi-target fights. Patch 0.10.0.1.6 (April 14, 2026) fixed its fire-damage display and VFX.37373838Close the distance before firing. Blunderbuss damage craters past mid-range so every shot should be at point-blank or near. Boarding actions, interior fights on ships, and tight jungle-cave corridors favor the weapon most. Pair with a melee two-hander (Two-Handed Sword, Dueling Greatsword) for a full Agility kit; the Agility stat investment covers both weapons.39394040Talent Synergies41414242Agility-scaling weapons pull from the Fencer branch of the Talent System. Relevant picks include talents that boost Pierce damage, Critical Hit Chance for light attacks, and Retaliation duration. Agility firearms also benefit from melee-speed talents since the typical blunderbuss or Infantry Musket pairing runs with a saber or greatsword main-hand.43434444See the Talent System article for the current list of unlockable talents and their exact bonus values. Every firearm consumes Gunpowder, so stockpiling Sulfur and Charcoal for the Workbench conversion remains a background chore for any ranged build.45454646Comparison Within Class47474848Dragon's Breath sits alongside 2 other blunderbusses on the current live index. Both are chance-triggered rather than guaranteed, and the 60% fire explosion chance on Dragon's Breath is higher than the knockdown chance on Reliable Blunderbuss, so the statistical expectation favors Dragon's Breath for raw damage output. The reason to pick Reliable Blunderbuss anyway is that knockdown has a qualitative effect on the fight (enemy is disabled, may fall overboard during Boarding) while fire explosion only adds damage.59596060Pick Dragon's Breath for Cursed Swamps. The 60% fire explosion excels against clustered plague thralls and Cursed Swamps enemies that approach in packs. Every successful fire proc chains damage through adjacent enemies, which turns a single center-mass shot into a crowd-wipe. For non-boarding fights against multiple weak enemies, Dragon's Breath consistently out-damages the Reliable Blunderbuss despite the lower flat damage value.61616262Pick Reliable Blunderbuss for boarding and bosses. Interior ship decks and single-target boss fights reward knockdown chances because disabling the target is worth more than extra damage on the hit. Against a boss, a lucky knockdown creates a free punish window for a heavy melee follow-up. On a narrow ship deck, a knockdown that flings the enemy overboard removes them from the fight entirely. Swap between the two blunderbusses depending on the encounter type rather than trying to pick one universal choice.63636464Details65656666Properties67676868PropertyValueAgilityCAvailable RaritiesRare, Epic6969Crafted By70707171Crafted at: Weaponsmith Workshop72727373IngredientQuantityWoodx10Copper Ingotx77474Ascend Cost75757676Ascend at: Weaponsmith Workshop77777878IngredientQuantityDragon's Breathx1Tumbaga Ingotx97979Where Found80808181Where FoundDetailWhere FoundQty Chance Locations
