Black Mark is a thin black metal token used as a quest turn-in item. In pirate folklore the Black Mark is a death warrant served by one outlaw to another, and the in-game token plays the same role for the Revenge Is Best Served Cold quest line, which asks the player to recover four of them from named enemies before progressing.

In-Game Description

A thin black metal token, an ill omen, marked with a grinning Jolly Roger.

A second flavour line on inspection reads: "Black Mark? That's a summons, mate, an invitation straight to the Devil."

Where to Find

Drops from named enemies the quest sends the player after; common pickup spots include Blackbeard outposts on the Ancient Ruins island, certain pirate camps, and from defeated lieutenants on themed enemy ships. The exact spawns are seeded by world generation, so quest text is the most reliable map.
