Initial version
Ash is a processed crafting resource, not a raw-world drop. Its primary use is Gunpowder production: every bag of Gunpowder requires 10 Sulfur + 20 Ash at the Millstone. Because Windrose firearms consume Gunpowder per shot, Ash throughput effectively gates how much ranged combat the player can sustain in mid-to-late game.
Charcoal Kiln byproduct: 1 Wood produces 1 Charcoal and 1 Ash per 30-second cycle.
Millstone grinding: 2 Charcoal can be ground into 6 Ash at the Millstone, giving a 3-to-1 conversion boost that is the preferred late-game route.

Run a Charcoal Kiln continuously during base idle time; Ash accumulates as a passive byproduct.
Once Foothills Sulfur is routine, convert spare Charcoal into Ash at the Millstone for maximum Gunpowder throughput per Wood harvested.
Keep Ash and Sulfur in stacked storage near the Millstone to avoid trip-timing Gunpowder crafts.
