The Blackbeard Frigate can replace its default 24-pound guns with 36-pound guns for maximum per-volley damage at the cost of reload speed. Ascending keeps the Rare-tier effect and layers an extra Epic-only bonus on top so the Epic cannon is strictly better once you can afford the Tumbaga cost.333334-Ascend recipe: Tumbaga Ingot x9 + 36-Pounders: Perfectly Ordered (Rare) x1 → 36-Pounders: Perfectly Ordered (Epic) x134+Ascend recipe: Tumbaga Ingot x9 + 36-Pounders: Perfectly Ordered (Rare) x1 to 36-Pounders: Perfectly Ordered (Epic) x135353636Epic-only bonus: Aiming speed increased by 30%.37373838When to Use39394040Best on the Blackbeard Frigate, which is the only hull in the game that can mount 36-pound cannons. The Epic tier adds a 30% aiming-speed bonus, which further shrinks the window needed to land each follow-up hit.41414242Rare vs Epic Comparison43434444StatRareEpicATK (Max)380380Damage (Max)25002500Reload Time16s16sRange RankAAAccuracy RankBBMax Item Level1515Base EffectAfter reloading, hitting an enemy within 4 seconds increases reloading speed by 30% for 22 seconds. After reloading, hitting an enemy within 4 seconds increases reloading speed by 30% for 22 seconds.Extra Epic BonusNoneAiming speed increased by 30%.4545The raw numbers do not change on ascension; the ATK, Damage, Reload, Range, and Accuracy values are all inherited from the Rare input. The only difference is the added Epic-only layer, which stacks with the Rare-tier effect rather than replacing it.46464747When the Upgrade is Worth It48484949Perfectly Ordered Epic adds a flat +30% aiming speed, which shortens the window needed to land the next hit and extend the rolling +30% reload buff. On rangy hulls the Epic tier is noticeably easier to maintain cadence with. Pair with Naval Tactics IV: Shipshape to squeeze the most value out of the upgraded cannon battery.50505151When to Skip the Ascension52525353Ascending is not always the right call. The Rare tier is already strong in isolation, and each ascension burns Tumbaga Ingot x9 for a single cannon slot. If you are still climbing the Shipwright's Workshop tier ladder, if your Blackbeard Frigate is not yet Item Level 15, or if you are rotating between playstyles that favor different modification lines, it is often smarter to keep the Rare cannon and spend your Tumbaga on something else first. The ascension is a one-way upgrade, but the cost also rises quickly if you change your mind about which variant you want on a given hull.54545555See Also56565757Cannons: full roster of every ship-weapon variantNaval Combat: how cannons resolve damageShipwright's Workshop: primary crafting stationShip Customization: pairing cannons with hull, hull mods, and naval tactics36-Pounders: related variant36-Pounders: Tempered: related variant36-Pounders: Devastating: related variantPlans: Perfectly Ordered 36-Pounders: recipe paper that unlocks this cannon58585959Game Data60606161Properties62626363PropertyValueAvailable RaritiesRare, Epic6464Crafted By65656666Crafted at: Shipwright's Workshop67676868IngredientQuantityCopper Ingotx20Wooden Plankx106969Ascend Cost70707171Ascend at: Shipwright's Workshop72727373IngredientQuantity36-Pounders: Perfectly Orderedx1Tumbaga Ingotx97474Fits Ships75757676ShipBlackbeard Frigate7777Taught By78787979PlanPlans: Perfectly Ordered 36-Pounders
