Combat in Wardens of Avalon runs on a classless system designed to give every player freedom over how they fight. Instead of locking into a single role, a Twilight Knight swears oaths that shape their build. Upholding an oath grants powerful boons, while breaking it lets a knight swear a new one and change their build to suit whatever the situation requires.

Weapons and abilities
Players gather and craft a range of weapons and suits of armor, then tune them with seals to fit a chosen playstyle. The arsenal supports very different approaches: a hammer can be used to strike and stun enemies, sacred armors boost your fire power, and a knight can even assimilate corruption at their own risk to deal significant damage. The trade-off built into that corruption is part of the game's risk and reward.
Defensive play
Seen from a top-down perspective, fights reward timing and reading the enemy. Each battle calls for precision, careful stamina management, and a close understanding of enemy behavior. Knights can dodge and parry incoming attacks, and they must master the elements to overcome the toughest threats. These skills matter most against the legendary bosses found while exploring Avalon, which are fought across several intense combat phases where pattern recognition and a well-built loadout decide the outcome.
Because builds are not fixed, the same knight can adapt from fight to fight. The classless design also shapes co-op play, where a party can cover one another's weaknesses by swearing complementary oaths.
