Overview
Nexon has published PC system requirements for Vindictus: Defying Fate twice: as part of the technical FAQ for the June 2025 alpha test, and on the Steam store listing, where they still stand. Both sets agree. They are pre-launch figures for an unfinished build, optimization work is ongoing, and the game is not due until 2027, so treat them as a working target rather than a final spec sheet.
Minimum and Recommended Specifications
A 64-bit processor and a 64-bit operating system are required. Both tiers list two processor and graphics paths, one Intel and Nvidia, one AMD.
Component | Minimum | Recommended |
|---|---|---|
Operating system | Windows 10, 64-bit | Windows 10, 64-bit |
Processor (Intel) | Core i5-9400F at 2.90 GHz | Core i7-10700K at 3.80 GHz |
Processor (AMD) | Ryzen 7 1800X at 3.6 GHz | Ryzen 7 3700X at 3.6 GHz |
Memory | 16 GB | 16 GB |
Graphics (Nvidia) | GeForce GTX 1060, 6 GB | GeForce RTX 3060 |
Graphics (AMD) | Radeon RX 480, 8 GB | Radeon RX 5700 XT |
Memory is the one line that does not move between tiers: 16 GB is the floor as well as the target. No resolution or frame-rate figure has been attached to either tier by Nexon, and no storage requirement has been published for the full game.
Operating System Support
Windows 10, 64-bit is the baseline. For the alpha, Nexon recommended version 22H2 or newer for best performance.
Windows 11 is supported as well.
macOS and Linux are not supported. The Steam listing is Windows-only.
Controller Support
The game is built controller-first. Its director has described gamepad play as the intended way to experience the combat, and the Steam listing flags the game as gamepad recommended with partial controller support. During the alpha test the Xbox controller was the only pad officially supported, and Nexon said support for a wider range of controllers was planned. Keyboard and mouse is fully playable; see Combat System for both input schemes side by side.
Consoles
Consoles were not playable during the alpha, and Nexon's technical FAQ for that test stated plainly that the team was developing the game with the goal of releasing it on consoles at official launch. That June 2025 statement is the earliest first-party console commitment on record, and it was reinforced in April 2026 when the team said it was aiming for a simultaneous release on at least two platforms including PC, and again in Nexon's August 2026 quarterly disclosure, which lists the game outright as a PC and console title. Which console systems those are has still not been named. See Release Date and Platforms for the full platform picture.
Troubleshooting Guidance
The alpha-era technical FAQ published a standard checklist for players hitting crashes or stability problems, which is worth keeping in mind for future tests:
Restart the computer before launching the game again.
Verify the integrity of the game files through the platform client's installed-files properties.
Update Windows to the latest available version.
Update the graphics driver, since driver-level incompatibility was the single most common cause of alpha crashes.
Reinstall the game if the problem persists.
Nexon shipped three separate stability patches during the eight-day alpha window, two of them specifically targeting crashes on particular GPUs and driver versions. See Alpha Test for the test timeline.
Engine Context
The requirements reflect an Unreal Engine 5 build. The GTX 1060 floor is modest for a UE5 title, which suggests the team is scaling the renderer down rather than leaning on the engine's heaviest features as a baseline, but the alpha was a partial build and the final spec sheet will be published closer to launch.
