Overview

Dame Gwynn is the Royal Army Knight Delegate assigned to Colhen in Vindictus: Defying Fate. She represents the Crown's interests in the village and enforces military protocol on behalf of the kingdom's formal chain of command.
She is not a member of the Kalbram Mercenaries. Her presence at the Mercenary Headquarters is in a liaison role. She is there to oversee, report, and ensure the mercenaries operate within Royal Army standards. Her returning role in the rebooted story emphasizes the political friction this creates.
Personality
Gwynn is strict, formal, and stern. She enforces military protocol as written and brooks little patience for the mercenary unit's more independent approach. She is not depicted as antagonistic in a personal sense, but the institutional position she occupies puts her at odds with the people doing the actual fighting.
She clashes most often with Vice-Captain Marrec, whose informal style and short temper grind against her insistence on rank and protocol. Captain Aodhan handles her with more diplomacy, but the relationship between the Crown's representative and the mercenary leadership stays tense throughout the story.
Role in the Story
Gwynn appears in council scenes, mission briefings, and any narrative beat that touches on jurisdiction or formal command. Players returning to Colhen between deployments will encounter her at the Mercenary Headquarters where she sometimes inserts herself into mission assignments or weighs in on the mercenaries' decisions.
Her presence is part of the story's broader argument: the institution that should be protecting Colhen has reduced its actual contribution to a single Knight Delegate, while the mercenaries handle the real work without the resources, recognition, or political support that would make their job easier.
Relationship to the Royal Army
Gwynn serves as the visible thread connecting Colhen back to the wider kingdom. Her dispatches, protocol enforcement, and occasional interventions are how the Royal Army keeps tabs on the frontier without committing the troops that would make a meaningful difference. The game's critique of bureaucratic neglect is delivered partly through her position.
Notes
Gwynn was revealed in an early dev log NPC reveal alongside Captain Aodhan.
Her stern Knight Delegate role echoes a returning character name from the original Vindictus, but Defying Fate reinterprets the role within its rebooted continuity. Plot beats from the 2010 game should not be assumed to carry over unless confirmed in current materials.
Ellis, the junior cadet stationed in Colhen, falls under her authority within the Royal Army chain.
