The Frozen Valley (also referenced in earlier Vindictus lore as Hoarfrost Hollow) is a region shaped by cryovolcanic activity. Underground thermal forces have pushed crystalline ice formations through the valley floor, creating a landscape that mixes natural caverns with jagged frozen spires. The visual contrast with the Northern Ruins is sharp — where the ruins feel overgrown and warm-toned, the Frozen Valley is blue, white, and cold.
The region is controlled by the Kobold tribe, a faction of strong, labor-focused creatures known for their mining operations. Resource conflicts between the Kobolds and other groups drive much of the area's storyline.
Miner Kobold: Basic workers turned combatants. They swing mining tools and are the most common enemies in the region.
Guard Kobold: More heavily armed than miners, these serve as the tribe's military backbone.
Kobold Wrangler: Handlers who fight alongside beasts. Taking them out first often neutralizes their companions.
Draenog: Beasts native to the Frozen Valley, used by Kobolds as working animals and occasionally as attack creatures.
Barghest: Larger predatory creatures that roam the valley independently.
Elite variants include the Foreman Kobold, who hits harder and can rally nearby Kobolds, and the Master Hunter Kobold, a more aggressive ranged-capable enemy.
The Frozen Valley has four named sub-bosses, all Kobold leaders: Expedition Captain Imich, Supervisor Eiwoch, Storekeeper Echeloch, and Chief Priest Emaighsoch. Each has a distinct fighting style tied to their role in the tribe's hierarchy.
Emuloch leads the Kobold tribe and is the region's primary boss encounter. The fight tests a different set of skills than the Gnoll Chieftain in the Northern Ruins, reflecting the Kobolds' different combat philosophy — expect more environmental hazards and area denial compared to Crimsongale's direct aggression.
Almas is a universal boss that can be encountered across regions, not exclusively in the Frozen Valley. The mechanics of this encounter haven't been detailed extensively, but its cross-region nature suggests it functions as a roaming threat or a challenge that scales with player progression.
