Stealth and Mission Approaches

Comprehensive article on mission approach variety
While The God Slayer's combat system is its most prominent feature, missions are designed with multiple approach paths. Cheng is not limited to fighting his way through every challenge — stealth, bribery, elemental diversion, and hidden routes all offer viable alternatives that reward creative thinking.
Stealth routes allow Cheng to bypass guards, avoid combat encounters, and infiltrate restricted areas without raising alarms. The Star Fall Society provides stealth gadgets — smoke devices, distractions, and infiltration tools — that facilitate non-lethal approaches. Rooftop paths, underground tunnels, and environmental cover in Zhou's dense urban layout support stealth gameplay.
Through his civilian identity, Cheng can bribe guards, manipulate NPCs, and gain access through social means. Building relationships with key characters through side quests may open unique solutions unavailable to players who skip optional content.
The Elemancer system provides creative diversion options. Setting a fire in a distant location draws guards away from their posts. Freezing a water source creates new traversal paths. Earth walls can block line of sight. These environmental manipulations blur the line between stealth and combat approaches.
Zhou's layered architecture contains hidden passages, forgotten tunnels, and unconventional paths. Observant players who explore thoroughly may discover routes that bypass major combat encounters entirely. Some hidden routes are only accessible using specific elemental abilities.
The Star Fall Society's gadgets and Wood element's entangling abilities support non-lethal gameplay. While the game does not track a binary lethal/non-lethal state, players who prefer to minimize violence have viable tools to do so for many encounters.
