The Spotted Pig is a rare pig variant in Starsand Island with multicolored, patchy fur. Like all pigs, it can search for truffles when fully grown, and its droppings serve as farm fertilizer. The Spotted Pig is obtained through breeding two common pigs.

How to Obtain | Breeding two common Pigs |
The Spotted Pig has a patchwork coat with irregular spots and blotches of contrasting colors across its body. The pattern varies from animal to animal but generally features light and dark patches spread unevenly, giving each Spotted Pig a somewhat unique look. Its body shape is the same squat, round build as the standard pig.
Place two adult common Pigs (one male, one female) in a Pig Pen with an empty slot. Overnight breeding can produce a Spotted Pig, a Tusked Boar, or a Puffhog as rare outcomes. The Selective Breeding House gives you more control over parent pairing.

|---|---|---|
Common Pig + Common Pig | Spotted Pig, Tusked Boar, Puffhog, or Common Pig | Random chance for rare variant |
Pigs are the only animals that can search for truffles, making them valuable for foraging. Adult Spotted Pigs dig for items just like common pigs. Their droppings also function as fertilizer for farm use.

Truffles | Cooking, high-value sale item |
Poop | Fertilizer |
Pig (Common): Standard pig from the Ranch.
Tusked Boar (Rare): Wild-looking variant with sharp tusks.
Puffhog (Rare): Fluffy fur, rideable.
The Spotted Pig is not rideable. If you want a rideable pig, aim for the Puffhog variant instead.
All pig variants hunt truffles equally well. The Spotted Pig's appeal is primarily visual.
Pig droppings make free fertilizer. Keep a few pigs on your farm to supplement your composting.
