The Red Musk Deer is a rare musk deer variant in Starsand Island with extremely rare reddish-brown fur. Like all musk deer, males secrete precious musk. The Red Musk Deer is obtained by breeding two common musk deer.

The Red Musk Deer has a warm, reddish-brown coat that stands out from the neutral browns of the common variant. The russet tones are most intense along the back and flanks, with slightly lighter shading underneath. This distinctive coloring makes the Red Musk Deer easy to identify in a group, even at a distance. The body shape remains the same compact, nimble build typical of musk deer.
Breed two adult common Musk Deer (one male, one female) in a Musk Deer Barn with an empty slot. The breeding has a random chance of producing a Red Musk Deer, Black Musk Deer, or another common. The Selective Breeding House allows you to isolate specific pairs for more controlled attempts.
