Known Issues and Troubleshooting

Added dated launch issues, graphics hotfix details and troubleshooting steps
This page records the launch issues and troubleshooting steps for Star Wars: Galactic Racer. The issue list was published on October 6, 2026, and the first hotfix followed on October 8. A dated listing is not a guarantee that every player encounters the issue or that every listed problem remains unchanged after a patch.
The hotfix raised the minimum graphics-driver versions checked on boot and made stability fixes when DLSS is enabled. If a required driver update changes the driver, the next boot can take longer while the game rebuilds its shader cache. The note supplies no exact driver version numbers. It also does not label all entries in the October 6 list as fixed.
Area | Dated issue or workaround |
|---|---|
Campaign | Autopilot can rarely guide the vehicle to an inaccessible route. |
Campaign | Players do not always receive a notification when their save file is corrupted. |
Interface | Interface Scale resets to 50% after restarting the game on Steam and Steam Deck. |
Interface | The controller scheme diagram does not show the Steam controller when playing on Steam Machine. |
Interface | Incorrect control glyphs appear for the Steam controller when playing on Steam Machine. |
Multiplayer | Choosing Quick Podrace can sometimes return the player to the main menu. |
Multiplayer | Opening Settings and Accessibility after starting a Multiplayer Tour can change the selected vehicle customization. |
Multiplayer | The spectator camera can show a vehicle upside down or under the track. |
Connection | After losing internet during a race in a party and reconnecting in the main menu, the player does not fully reconnect to that party. |
PC display | Changing to fullscreen and switching focus between applications can make the monitor blink and the system become unresponsive. |
PC graphics | An Intel Arc A580 can flicker with Resizable BAR disabled. |
PC graphics | MSAA upscale does not function as expected. |
Steam Deck | The Epic Online Services overlay can be invisible. Press B to cancel when this occurs. |
PC graphics | Frame Generation can cause a crash on Nvidia 50-series GPUs when DLSS is enabled. |
For a displayed multiplayer code, check Multiplayer Error Codes. Some listed codes describe successful states; the code list is not exhaustive. A general troubleshooting step is not a code-specific guaranteed fix. Race fields, party limits and matchmaking are documented on Multiplayer.
Step | Scope |
|---|---|
Restart | Restart the game or session and, if necessary, the PC, console or cloud session. |
Verify files on Steam | Open the game's Properties, select Installed Files and choose Verify integrity of game files. |
Corrupt installation | Reinstalling is suggested when game data is suspected to be corrupted. It is not a promise to repair an affected campaign save. |
Update and reproduce | Check that the game and system software are updated, then record where and how the problem repeats. |
PS5 suspected corrupt data | The support guide suggests fully shutting down the console, entering Safe Mode after the second power-button beep, connecting the controller by USB and selecting option 5, Rebuild Database. |
Steam Deck overlay | For the invisible Epic Online Services overlay, the dated workaround is to press B to cancel. |
Support request | Use the game's customer-support request form for unresolved problems or an unlisted code. |
The customer-support form asks for a request title, request category and a description. Categories cover connection and technical problems, bug reports, billing or purchases, game questions, player behavior and other requests. Provide the information requested in the required fields. Replies continue through the support conversation, which can also be viewed in the account's Requests area. For a bug report, include the platform, region, exact time, what you were doing, any error code or message, how consistently it repeats and an available screenshot or video. Record the steps needed to reproduce a recurring issue and retain the media in case support requests more details.
PC players need online authentication on the first launch. Campaign, Arcade events and Scenarios can then be played offline, while multiplayer and connected leaderboards need a connection. The developers state that consistent 30 fps is achievable on Steam Deck with optimal settings, without naming an exact preset. Hardware requirements are on System Requirements.
