The world of Star Trek: Shadow Frontier is a single hostile planet, and it is the game's true antagonist. Beautiful and lethal in equal measure, it has been overtaken by a strange consciousness that spans the entire world.

A Planet That Hunts

The planet does not simply contain dangers; it weaponizes its own landscape. A planet-wide entity has spread across the environment and turned it against intruders, spawning creatures that patrol the land and strike without warning. Environmental hazards and obstacles lurk around every corner, so that exploration is both the only path forward and a constant risk.

The Consciousness

At the center of the world is the consciousness that controls it. It seeks to absorb Ro's mind, burrowing into her thoughts and plaguing her with visions in an effort to claim her entirely. This is what turns the planet from a survival challenge into a psychological one, as explored in Survival and Horror. The entity has not been given a name.

A Graveyard for Ships
