Initial version (2026-05-16)
Mi'pu'mi Games is an independent co-development studio based in Vienna, Austria. The studio is responsible for handling the console versions of Solarpunk for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and Nintendo Switch 2. The partnership was announced on April 9, 2026, alongside the confirmed June 8, 2026 release date.
The original Solarpunk project was built by a two-person team at Cyberwave (Ben Brass and Patrick de Rijk). Shipping three console ports simultaneously alongside the PC build required engineering capacity beyond what a two-person studio could realistically produce. Publisher Rokaplay brought on Mi'pu'mi Games to handle the platform-specific work for the three console SKUs.
Mi'pu'mi's responsibilities on Solarpunk include rendering performance tuning for fixed-hardware consoles, controller-input integration with each platform's native input APIs, certification compliance with Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo's submission processes, and the platform-specific save and trophy/achievement plumbing. The PC build remains Cyberwave's direct responsibility.

Mi'pu'mi Games has been credited as a co-development partner on a range of larger console titles, lending the team experience with the kind of certification, optimization, and porting work that a small independent studio rarely has time to develop in-house. The studio's prior work has covered both AAA console releases and indie co-developments, giving it a broad familiarity with each console manufacturer's submission requirements.
For a small indie title like Solarpunk, partnering with a dedicated co-development studio reduces the risk of console-specific bugs slipping through to launch and frees the original development team to focus on patching and post-launch support across all platforms.
All four launch platforms (PC, PS5, Xbox Series, Switch 2) will share the same content and feature set at launch. Cross-play between PC and consoles is not planned at launch, so multiplayer sessions stay within each platform ecosystem. The Mi'pu'mi-built console versions are intended to match the PC build's content and progression on a one-to-one basis.
